| His food does contain corn, but he's been eating it for a month now and this never happened. I googled and i think its either worms and something he ate, here is my question. Yesterday afternoon he pooped and had the yellow dots almost like little rice bits, but today in the mourning he pooped normal. Half an hour ago he pooped again and had the litle things. What do you think i should do ? They don't move. Its friday so the vet is out of question, also my family is quite low on cash right now, so i dont now what to do. Any input on this ?

| If it were me, and he's eating, drinking, pooping and peeing, wait a couple days, if it doesn't clear up, take him to the vet. |

| How old is Mishksa?? It sounds like worms to me or worm eggs? I think I would get it check at the vets and get her dewormed.

| Well, its up to you, but if it's still happening in a couple days, I'd grab a sample and take it to the vet, maybe on Monday or Tuesday when the vet would not be an emergency charge. Maybe they can just test the stool sample and not charge you an exam fee. My vet will let me just drop off a sample and send it in for testing for $35. I mean, if its something he ate, it will clear itself up and you'll know in a couple days anyway. I don't really think it matters that it skips bms, either way its odd. If its a tape worm, it may not be shedding segments at a constant rate, so it may not show every time he goes. I'm not sure, but you may be able to get worm medicine over the counter and try that, but I don't know if there is harm in giving to him if it turns out that's not needed. |

| Sounds like possible tapeworms. I'd take a fresh sample with the rice like things in for the tech to look at. Most likely they'll sen you home with a one time pill to take care of it. |

| Nope. Tapeworms are the least invasive worm dogs get. Shouldn't be a problem at all. |

| [UPDATE] So i called the vet, the first time i called the guy didnt even know what was a fecal examination and if they did that there . But then i talked with the doctor and she told me that was propably the most common eggs , tapeworm. Now i'll just have to go to the pharmacy and pick some dewormer [ He wasnt ever dewormed yet] and then if it continues ill take the sample and well take a look at it. She says it ends the development of larvae on 90% cases. Anyways, whats the best one out there in term of quality/price ? By the way, thanks for all your help so far :b |

| When I adopted Anya, she had a pretty bad case of tapeworms.
My vet did a fecal exam, and prescribed Droncit-it was just 2 pills that I gave at once, and it cleared up in a few days.
It was $15 for the prescription when I got it.
After the Droncit, then we started a HeartGuard regimen. |

| Droncit it is the best in my opinion. It's a one time treatment and does not need to be repeated. It is dosed by weight.
Heartguard does nothing for the prevention of fleas, which are the cause of tapeworms. Heartguard is for heartworm prevention, which is spread by mosquitoes. Heartguard Plus prevents roundworms, whipworms, hookworms, and heartworms. Nothing for fleas or tapeworms, just as a heads up.
