| Thanks Ashton, we are really looking forward to seeing you guys too. It's been far too long. Such a busy summer so far, mostly house hunting...ugh.. But we plan on buying a house with tons of extra room and space for all the Huskies, backyard and firepit included of course!!
The 25th is set in stone for us.
and riggabert, welcome aboard the Seattle Husky ship! So good to have a new member, we all can't wait to meet you and your little bundle of fluff. Keep us up on pics and whatnot and let us know if you need any help or recommendations with anything, you have a great network of resources available to you.
Cheers. |

| Lake Serene, not Lake stevens. The only thing we got in lake stevens is the centennial trail. Would be a pretty boring walk for the pups. Lake Serene is off Highway 2, right before the Index bridge. |

| Thanks for the welcome to the group. Unfortunately we will be out of town during the meet Aug 25th. Hopefully there will be something fun to do in September so Loki and I can meet the group. Hope you all are well and we look forward to meeting you all soon. |

| I was wondering about lake stevens....would have been pretty convenient for me. I still have more than a few mislocated vertebrae but the 25th is far enough out I may be up for a hike. (just gotta make sure I don't mess it up camping this weekend)
I've been feeling bad cause Harry's had to make due with the treadmill for some time now, so hopefully we can make it to lake serene. |

| I'm interested in potentially coming on the 25th with Chuck. He'll have had his 11 week shots by then, and if all the other dogs are vaccinated too I'm thinking it would probably be fine? Or would all the adult dogs be too much? Simply do not know what to expect socialization wise yet...

| Hmm, well you wouldn't have to worry about vaccine issues but the distance is way too much for the lil feller, you shouldn't push him that much so soon. |

| We could meet up at a les formal park that's neither a hike nor a dog park, like Seward Park on south Seattle. Any Saturday after 3 or Sunday works for us. |

| Yeah, the hike will be too long, but I would love to get together somewhere Where are you from? I'm out in Redmond-Kirkland. Not sure what times are good yet, but we'll have to find a time and place that works for everyone soon! |

| For anyone who needs it, here is some technical, topographical, and what-to-expect info about the trail and there are driving directions to the trailhead at the bottom of the written info as well.

Looks like a $30 Northwest Forest Pass is required?? |

Hmm really? Need to look into that. The Discovery Pass doesn't count? |

| Discovery pass is seperate from the nw forest service pass. Each are $30 for a year long pass. I havent figured out why one is required vs the other. |

Yeah the passes are confusing - I would look into it further, I just went up to the olympic national forest with a buddy the other day and he had some sort of blanket pass that covered that one. I think there also may be day use fees of approx $5 if you dont have a pass, but maybe that was a state forest. Who knows... Regarding future meet ups, if they are puppy-friendly I could do sun/mon labor day weekend, or the next sun after that, 9/8 I believe. |

| Ok I just did some research for the Lake Serene hike. A pass is definitely required to park in the lot at the trailhead.
It is specifically the Northwest Forest Pass which is $30, the Discover Pass does not work here.
Day passes are available for purchase in advance only and can be bought at REI, Big 5 Sports, or other sporting goods places. There is a general store in Index that sells passes as well, but I have no idea what the hours are on Sunday if they are open at all.
Is this a go? What's the headcount??
Your call Roxy. |
