| i got a box in the mail last night this is what was in the box this is who was getting them this is how she acted baby girl would not put her foot on the ground! I'm not sure but are huskies feet/ankles different from other dogs? she would not put her foot flat to get them on right and when i did get it on her she they did not stay in place just as she was hopping around. so I'm not sure if they're going to work. I tried them on jack and he was not impressed at all, he at least put his foot down in them but the same thing his foot would not keep in it with the way the top came up on them. _________________ |

| Iditarod mushers say Siberian Huskies feet are much more sturdy than other sled dog breeds. They also dont require booties as frequent. SO i would say yes i believe they are different |

| I was wondering how those would work. They wouldn't even fit over Ridik's feet so I couldn't try to fit them or anything. It seems like the sled dogs walk more on their toes, whereas Bubba walks with the big pad having more contact. Maybe the design is too rigid and doesn't conform to how they walk? It's still hard to tell with just the one boot on. If you could get all four on at once then maybe she would be forced to put pressure on at least one to see if the foot is sitting right inside the boot. Or there's always Gunny, but his feet are bullet proof anyway.
I've only heard good things about dogbooties.com and they're priced right. I'm just not entirely sure how the Cordura will act against sharp granite at crazy angles for extended amounts of time (you would probably need at least 500 Denier, or the Toughtek things they have). The boots I have are going to have to be used as more of a first aid piece.
Since my gang had no pad problems last year, I'm thinking about going this route: http://www.gundogsupply.com/7-95.html?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&cvsfa=2266&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=372d3935
Then there's these things: http://pupgearcorporation.com/Products/Paw-Pads They're meant for slippery surfaces but might work good for rock scrambling too. |

| those paw pads seem really cool but not sure if they will help in the hiking. how do you get them off I wonder? the tuf-foot seems like a great price and worth the try. I will try to get all the booties on her this weekend when I have more time to deal with it, at 10pm on tue I did not feel like getting her that mad at me you can see in the pic her legs are more at an angle where the booties go straight up from the boot part and I think that's the issue. the booties are not for the snow or rain but the rough cutting rock we will be hiking over this summer like eddy was saying, sierra got a few cuts last year. _________________ |
