Ok so koda has been such a good dog so far.. My only problem is with him and other dogs.. He isnt mean. Or scaredhe just wants to play! My girlfriend has 2 little dogs and they are scared of him and run from him so e chases them. My 2 main problems are my sisters dog and my other dog. My sisters dog doesnt lile him that much and just stays away. But koda wants to llaybso he chases him and when koda cathes him batman (my sisters dog) growls and snaps at him then koda growls back.. Then my other dog stays in a little kennel that he can ho inside and outside.. Inside is heated and insulated.. Well king (other dog) is old and we just found out has 2 tumors and idk if he has a few months or a few years left.. Surgery is to risky for how old he is.. But king doesnt really play anymore and just likes to relax. But koda wants to llay and king runes outside then and stays out there in the cold until i come get koda.. (Koda stays in there with him when im not home).. Is there a way to tame koda back when he is with smaller older dogs that dont like to play as much? Or does anyone hve any tips?

I'm a little confused but did you say Koda stays with King (the older dog with health complications) while you're not home? If that's the case I certainly would remedy that first. The older dog needs space where he isn't going to be terrorized by a young puppy... Is it possible to keep Koda in his own crate or kennel?

As for Koda... He really needs to learn when enough is enough. Usually with an older dog they will let a young puppy know but if they're smaller dogs sometimes puppies are too interested in chasing and smaller dogs are often more intimidated since larger breed puppies are usually about equal size if not larger. I would start to separate Koda the moment he gets too rough. If the other dog is growling or showing he's not interested- remove Koda. He needs to understand what the dog is trying to communicate to him... And if his stubborn Husky self isn't "getting" it immediately, you need to step in and show him that it's time to back off by putting him up.

It does take some time because Huskies are so persistent, but the more consistent you are with not allowing him to chase them down or having him back off when they are clearly showing they have no interest... The better it will get.

Yes he does stay with king when im not home.. I dont feel comfortable leaveing koda in his crate unsupervised because the crate i bought is to big for him right now and twice he got his mouth stuck between the wires... I do have to say that koda doesnt chase king around he will just nip at him.. And wen i see him do it i yell at him cause i can tell king doesnt like it but i know koda is trying to play.. If king walks away koda will leave him alone.. I think he uderstands king is old but he still wants to play.. They have only been staying together for abouy a week now.. Do you think it will get better naturally or do i have to attempt something?

No I think you need to step in. And regardless what you say when you see him do that to King, the fact is he's being left unattended with him when you're not there... Putting King at risk and probably stressing him out. Accidents can happen anytime, especially when you've got a rowdy puppy and an older smaller dog.

Is it not possible to get one of the plastic crates? The airline ones? I'm sure craigslist always has some for very inexpensive... Nothing a little bleach and soap can't handle.

I just wanted to agree with Kristina on this.

A. Old dog needs space. He's earned it. He's likely being very stressed by your little ball of energy, whom really needs to be given his own space at this point.

B. I like airline crates better than wire crates for so many reasons. They are easier to clean, usually cheaper, more secure, less hazardous, stackable, and the dogs can't really see each other when they are next to each other, so they aren't going nuts the whole time. Not to mention how much easier assembly is on an airline crate.
