Question, my husky is 6 months old going on 7, and i was just wondering that her not howling yet is normal? How old was your husky when he or she started to howl?

Yuki has howled since she was 7 weeks old lol I think its just a personality thing. Yuki is VERY outspoken. She will howl until you go deaf when she wants something.

mine didn't till i got the 2nd one..lol.

My female didn't howl for months outside one instance when 3 other huskies were howling. Even now, she doesn't have your typical husky howl.

Biko will howl with the fire sirens, but Adobo who is 6 has never howled. She woo-woos but never howled.

Mine don't really howl. Kerian argues with you and herself all the time kind of woo woo sound.

Blaze kind of howls but not much. We will talk saying I luv you.

Every dog is different Your dog is perfectly normal. She may never howl, or she may howl for the first time tomorrow, or 5 years from now. You never know.

Yeah, mine don't howl either. Elara had a really funny howl as a little pup, but doesn't anymore. They "talk" but no howling.

Lucian has only howled once, and that was at about 12 weeks old, when I was taunting him with his toys. I was trying to get him to go down a few steps to the back door, lol. He does talk, but not too much. I keep trying to get him to howl, but he won't.

Tika howls a lot, but more of a talkative woooo. She almost never barks. Ripley barks (loudly!) If she feels she needs to, which is when there are other dogs barking, fireworks or the neighbours Christmas lights come on. She has howled once that I have heard, and it was in her sleep, she woke herself up and looked rather confused.

LOL! thats a funny story Kelly. Yeah like my other post say my husky does the talking thing a lot!

My 2 week old pup is trying to howl...if that counts. lol
My female doesn't howl as much as my male does, and he howls at everything. He started this when he was about 7 months or so.

Every dog is different....i'm sure yours will soon. Hey, it may even suprise you.....she may howl up a storm. And you may not get her to stop...lol

Rogue has a weird rhaspy bark and a weird rhaspy "awooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" More than anything, I swear she is a Pokemon, because she always makes this noise that makes her sound like she is going "Rooogue" and it's in a deep manly voice.. haha.
I think Rodeo, Asia and Rogue all have the same weird noises if I remember correctly from videos.

Quannik doesn't howl really, mostly barks and talks in a growling manner. It's really endearing!

It's normal. Some dogs don't howl much and prefer to bark or growl. Others need certain triggers. My pup won't howl unless he's stressed when I put him in his crate (separation anxiety) or if I hold him and make a long, high pitch noise with my mouth.

I met a red and cream colored husky named Cinnamon that never howled or wooed. Her human doesnt like that she's not talkative but She is a therapy dog, very sweet and calm so maybe its good that she is quiet. Some sibes deviate from the norm it seems

My first only howled with sirens as well. Willow is 2 and has never howled or woo'd (sp). Aspen, my 3 yr old rescue has never howled or woo'd either. On a handful of occasions my two will do a low growl when they bring me a ball to play catch. Otherwise, they are very silent dogs.

Saphire has only howled a couple of times and it took a lot of convincing by mom (I must have looked like a complete idiot howling at her! LOL). That said she is slowly becoming more vocal as she gets older. But mostly woo woo'ing.

We were just at my brother's last weekend and she was playing with his beagle mix named Daisy (who has a very deep bark and howl) and Saphire was yapping at Daisy while they played. My brother looked at me and said "Why does your big dog have a chiahuahua bark?" I just laughed and tried to explain that she doesn't really ever bark.

Freya is a mix so I dfont know if she counts. She doesnt howl, but she's a great alert dog, she barks at everyone coming by.
She did start talking today, it was in amongst all of her barking at kids playing on the road out front of my house, she was barking and then she'd stop, run around the lounge room for a litte bit and then start talking as if saying'I just really want to be out there.'

Luna only howls when I leave, so i've never heard her howl but have been told she does. She woowoo's when she wants to play though.

my 4 year old never howls, but does the woo woo thing when he wants to go for a walk. the puppy sure can howl, found that out very quickly during crate training, kinda wish she didn't know how to howl.

My 7 month old only howls when my wife encourages him otherwise he barks.

It all depends on the dog I guess. Mya whines and woos, Kody majorly woos, and Asia....

Balon doesn't really howl, he sort of grumbles and talks lol. He is a character!
