| Hey, So Kyra is 10 weeks old. She is a very playful and curious pup, but we are realizing that she doesn't like to just relax and chill out with us. She won't lay beside us anywhere, or sit beside us at the end of the night to relax. As long as she is not in her crate she is playing, chewing or doing her own thing. We could interrupt her in the middle of playing and put her in her crate and she will lay down and go to sleep no problem but out of her crate and near us she never just stays still. Is this just a puppy thing? is it something she would grow out of eventually or will she always be like this? Is there anything to make her maybe just a little more affectionate that she will at least lay still at the end of the night with us lol. |

| She's a Husky - Need I say more? They're a very independant breed. They're often called a cat-dog. They like their own company. Dont get me wrong they love their pack nad need the socialisation and stimulation of being with others, but they like being on their own as well.
As long as Fre knows where we are she's happy to go off and do her own thing. She loves being with us, but when she's had enough she goes off to lay on my son's bed alone or play with her toys in another room. |

| Haha you don't need to say more at all. I understand their independence but I would of thought we could get even 20 minutes a day of her just lying near us or staying still with us at night, something. If we put her on the bed, couch etc on her own, she just finds any way she can to get herself off and onto the floor.
I know I can't compare dogs, but my friends husky cuddles like no tomorrow, she will pretty much spoon you and sleep with you until something big distracts her, and she'll sit lay down all the time. Was hoping for at least 1/10th of that haha. |

| Freya is very much like your friends husky, she spoons me in bed too lol, but she does has a hint of indepnedance. Freya is also a mix so I think she gets her affectionate side from her Bull Mastiff.
Like people all dogs have different personalitites. They do tends tp follow certain trends ie. the independance, the intelegent etc, but just because the majority do these things, doesnt mean they all do.
Maybe she is just like this because she is still a puppy and there are so many cooler things to be doing, ie. playing, chewing things. One can have hope. |

| Hayden didn't like to snuggle for the longest time! He finally will do it now! Nicky on the other hand, I couldn't get her to snuggle if I offered her all the bones in the world. She is very much content by herself or with Hayden. |

| Cloud nor Yuki will snuggle me. It's finally getting to a point where Yuki will jump into bed and want attention though, she's very cat-like. Pet me now because I want petted, but if you want to pet me then I don't want to be petted. |

| Blaze really doesn't like to cuddle as he gets older and since we got Kerian he will do hugs and cuddles more.
Now Kerian loves to be hugged and cuddled I think some of it has to do with her being a rescue maybe in her previous life she didn't get alot of attention i think. I think she is just happy to have a forever home and she knows it. |

| Lucian wasn't much of a "cuddler" either. But now at 5 months old he will lay on my lap if I sit on the floor, or have him in the truck with me. |

| Maya does NOT like to cuddle, she will growl at anyone other then me who lays on her. She used to not really care about us at all until we got Sophie then she became more affectionate. Now that we have Kay she has to be with me all the time. They all follow me everywhere and Maya will lay right next to me most of the time. They are always in the same room as me unless they're tired then Maya will lay on the couch, Kay in the kitchen within view, and Sophie on her bed. Sophie and Kay are lovers, Kay always wants attention and Sophie doesn't ask for it unless she just gets out of her kennel or i just come back home. But Sophie love attention even if she doesn't ask for it. I make Kay and Sophie cuddle with me all the time and they don't mind. |

| Kale has never been cuddly, and I never expect him to be. He has the type of personality that doesn't like to be bothered while he sleeps. He grumbles, gets up, and moves as far away as possible. Don't get me wrong, he loves attention and to be loved on, but to sleep? Psh if he jumps on the bed, he will leave if I move at all during the night. Lol typical husky... Lol |

| Lol, Maya will steal my spot on the bed when i leave and the easiest way to get her to leave is to snuggle with her. |

| Hmm, this might be a husky trait that I can get on board with . I love playing with dogs and going and biking/hiking, but if he will do his own thing part of the time when we are just lazing about the house, I'll be over joyed. Just have to wait and see how his little personality turns out. |

| Haha thanks everyone! I guess i'll accept it as is and consider it a gift if she cuddles! - My friends dog was also sick when he first got her (from a puppy mill and didn't realize it at the time) So I think maybe she enjoyed being cuddled just because she was in a lot of pain and it's a trait that just stuck. It seems to be a rare trait to come by in these creatures haha! |

This is Freya, she's such a little witch at times. I'll be ready for bed, I put the bed side light on, turn the overhead light off, turn hte fan on. Turn around and there she is on my side in my spot. THe only way to get her to move is to push her out the way lol. If I get up in the middle of the night to see to one of the boys I return to her in my spot and she looks at me with an expression saying 'This is my spot, you're just borrowing it.' |

Ava does that exactly. Its one of the only times that she's cuddly, unless I'm sick or something. But when I have to roll her out of the way to get in bed, she's such a drama queen about it. She'll moan and groan and look so pathetic to be moved ou of the way lol |

| We had Lola for almost six months and she is just over 1 year old. This week we were playing in one of our spare bedrooms - it is pretty large 20' x 24' and has carpet unlike the rest of our house that has wood floors. After playing fetch, I sat on the bed to dream about how I'd like to redo this room. Lola jumped up on the bed and took a nap next to me. That is as close to cuddling for an extended period of time she has done. Last night she got up on the couch and sat next to my husband. She has never done that before either. She mostly likes to sit on our little leather chaise lounge and look out the picture window. |

| My son fell asleep on the couch this afternoon, he always sleeps for about 4 hours everyday (side efect of his treatment), he was just in his jocks because it's summer we have become a nudist colony household. I moved him to my bed because I wanted to vacuum his room while he was asleep. When he woke, Freya was the first to hear him. I opened the door to get him. Freya squeezed in, jumped on the bed and put her head on his stomach in a bit of a cuddle. My son then went to say 'I think Freya loves me.'
She is a really affectionate, cuddly dog when it's on her terms. |

| I guess I got a weird one in this department...Karli has always liked to cuddle. And needs to be near me most of the time. She will lay and do her own thing, but if I'm on the floor, at Karli height as I call it, she has to be touching me and on me. She will jump up on the couch to be with me. Every dog will have a different personality, its what makes them special. |
