I have a Minolta XG-M and a XG-1 for my main and back-up camera's. Both have survived the years well but it's getting harder to find the plastic stuff that was loaded in it (a substance called film) and even harder to get the film developed. I too must someday join the digital age and get new cameras. My daughter-in-law has an Olympus and my daughter a Nikon, I like the Nikon more than the Olympus and will probably buy one when I do get around to it. Just for fun, When I bought my Minoltas back in the '80s they were #2 as far as optical glass, Nikon was #1 and I think they could still be Nikkor optics being used for more than just camera lenses. As far as Sigma lenses being more affordable-they are. Good quality lenses but the optics are plastic instead of glass (just like eye glasses) this is what helps the price. Only bad thing I've heard about them is they can scratch easier than glass so they need to be protected.
