¿Does she jump the garden fence too? At least it looks like something that should heal fairly quickly.

now that we have put up the chicken wire she does not jump it any more just Jack. i think its a stuck pricker since we have them in the back yard. its funny cause Sierra is always the one getting hurt, Jack stays healthy. _________________

well her paw is less red and she is getting these little black beads around the base of her nail, (maybe dried blood?), not sure what it is but I think it's getting better. _________________

Do you have it wrapped normally? Almost looks like she's getting at it too much. I would cone her.

Vet told me not to wrap it cause I would not see if something was going on. I tried the sock thing for when she goes outside and it did not work well. don't think the cone will work in her crate either. I was at petco returning the rain coat and seen these temp booties that looks like weird water balloons to put on the feet, wonder if that would help, I think it would not let it breath.. should I just gauze it and wrap it with tape? put anything on the gauze? http://www.petco.com/product/110625/PAWZ-Dog-Boots.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch _________________

I guess it's tougher not being there all day. I would wrap it loosely with just a tiny bit of anti bacterial ointment and change it at least daily giving it some time to "breathe". But I think she'll chew through anything around her foot while she's in her crate. Still, it's hard to tell from pictures. Foot things always take a bit longer to heal in my experience. Try calling the vet and describing what you see and ask if there's specific things you should be looking for. To me it looks like it's trying to scab and the light pinkish tone looks like she's constantly licking it.

i was thinking of calling them, im still soaking the foot 2-3 times a day as well. she is licking it and we try to stop her. we need to get it better, she is not holding her foot up anymore so i don't think there is any pain now. i only did her pain killers for 2 days i hated how she was acting on them. _________________

Wish I could help. but have never seen anything like this before. Doesn't seem the vet is too concerned tho....Geesh...there doesn't seem to be pain, you said, yet she's definitely getting at it. I'd try the vet again. I know what you mean about the pain meds..after Isis' surgery, whatever it was they gave us for her wiped her out! Didn't like it, so called the vet, and they said we could just give her the Rimadyl we had from Mika's surgery. Only good I see in medicating a dog is that if they're loopy, they tend not to bug the surgery/injury site, cause they're too sleepy! Again, I wish you luck!

I have no idea. When the dogs hurt their paws though, we do what Eddy said: a little bit of neosporin, a sock, and a hair band or two around the leg (not cutting off the circulation) to keep the sock on. You know... since you can't watch her in the crate during the day, what about doing the sock thing when you're around and letting it air when she's in the crate? Those temp booties are good for outside (so as not to make it worse) but I wouldn't leave something like that on in the crate unsupervised. That can cause some serious intestinal problems if chewed and ingested. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand.
