| Well Mia has been on a spree of not listening to my partner and I, she keeps getting into the trash and not telling us when she needs to go outside, shes a year old and housetrained so its a little stressful, and she rarely barks except when Niko is trying to play, which she refuses to do, even with us, but tonight was a little more stressful than any other, i took her ourside and she tried to pull me across the yard, then i had to run to the gas station so i took her for a car ride, she was fine until i tried getting back into the car, which i left running for the 2 minutes i was inside so that she would be warm, my car has heated seats so i turned them on for her, i come out of the store and shes in the drivers seat and refusing to move, she bit me when i tried to move her back to the passenger side, and then when we got home pushed her way out the door before i could even get out, a week ago she was the best dog ever, but now im not sure what has gotten into her.
Now for Niko, He is over dramatic, a bath is like waging a war with him, he doesnt alert to go outside, and yes i know hes only 3 motnhs old so i dont get mad, but the other day i was trying to dry him after his morning bath because when he is in his kennel at night, he will deficate 6-10 times an hour because he doesnt want to be in there, well as i was drying him he latched onto my hand, bit as hard as he could and tried to use my fingers as a toy, i swatted his but after i cleaned myself up, but to no alas now he thinks he is being abused, he shrieks if you look at him, try to pick him up, try to play, try bathing him( which we beat by putting him in the shower with us, its the drying thats the fun part) my neighbors have called animal control because they think we are trying to kill him when he shrieks like that, and he will do it for 45 minutes or until he thinks you understand that your there for him, he tries to run the house, if the dogs dont play with him, he shrieks the same way, if the cat walks past him and doesnt sniff he shrieks, if i dont feed him when im eating he shrieks, if i put him in his kennel he shrieks, all he does is shriek like hes dying, so i took him to the vet to see if anything was wrong, and he was perfectly fine, a little angel, now i love him to death, but why is he being a bastard to me and my partner, pardon my language, its just very stress ful, we work from home and i have lost 5 clients because i cant focus on a conference call because if im not paying attention to him 24/7 then im wrong, any help for us is greatly appreciated.
were at our wits end

| They're pushing the limits, espcially Mia, she's at that age and now she's becoming comfortable with you guys she thinks she'll be able to get away with it, and well Niko is a puppy, you shouldn't really expect anything differently from him.
Google NILF training, I think it would benefit you guys a lot. Or even look into taking the two of them to obedience classes.
Niko for one sounds incredibly unsocialized, I would put him in a puppy class ASAP. |

| we have 4 dogs, and they are always out during the day playing with each other, but we put them all in crates at nights except mia because shes broken 3 so far, he plays with our pitbull all day, but hes just being unruly, i thought the stubbornness wasnt for a few more months, but hes also half german shepherd, and im fine on the going in the house, we know he cant control it for a few more months, but the shrieking is to the point whhere we are honestly considering a bark collar, which is something we said we would never do, but we are at our wits end, if i lose all my clients than i cant take care of any of them
he cant go to puppy class, hes only 3 months, his rabies shot can not be done until 16 weeks |

| Personally, just because they're playing in the house, doesn't mean exercise. That's not them getting out and being socialized.
My vet said they could go to puppy class at 12 weeks, after their last parvo/distemper. |

| You have had her a VERY shot time - she's stressed. Give her time, she is a rescue. |

| Being over-dramatic is a husky thing! My Balon is a real drama queen for sure, giving him a bath takes two of us with headphones on, and we get as wet as he does. He jumps up and down screaming and crying the whole time! And housebreaking, well read my threads he was a handful, to the point my vet thought he had a serious medical issue (thank god he didn"t lol). He is finally about 99% reliable with telling us he has to go out and he is almost 9 months old! Give it time, Niko is young!
As far as Mia goes, I agree she is feeling her oats so to speak. Just continue to set boundaries, and take her to a training class, practice NILF training (nothing in life is free)!
Good luck! |
