| Good Evening everyone, I have a question for a couple of weeks I have been feeding Bob Nature's Variety Chicken Formula Instinct Raw Frozen Diet along with orjen kibble. I give him about a cup and half along with cup of Orjen. Tonight for the first time he threw up everything and got me worried. He is pooping fine still seems alert but my question is Does anyone have any information on this food. Is it something I should worry about. The only difference this weekend is I gave him his Trifextis pill nothing different. Should I call the vet? Wait to see if something else happens??
Thank you for your time. |

| If this is the first time he vomits his food after being on it for 2 weeks, then I'd guess it's something else besides the food. Could be a fluke, maybe he ate something he shouldn't have, who knows.
I wouldn't call the vet or get worked up over a single incident. When you feed the raw and kibble, do you feed them as separate meals? Feeding them separately is often recommended since they digest at different rates to keep the food moving. _________________ |

| Triflexis and comfortis will cause vomiting if not taken with food. As well as its not usual for dogs to have reactions to it. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| If Bob is close to the lower weight limit for the dosage of Trifexis he's on, you might think about dropping to the next lower dosage. I'd keep an eye on him and watch for trends over the next couple months with the Trifexis, and if it keeps happening adjust the dosage. We had to do that for Lulu, even though she's 22-23 lbs normally, her stomach couldn't handle the 20-40 lb dosage. Hopefully it's just a one time occurrence though! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I lucked out and got a freezer full of Instinct Raw Food that had partially thawed due to a freezer door cracking at the store for only $40! I've been feeding it to my girls for a few weeks now and they've been fine. _________________ -Sara |

| Thank you everyone for your comments. I think I am an overprotective mother. After all he deserves.
I usually feed him the raw food first about the cup and half then the kibble Orjen. He is 76 pounds now and I am trying not to give him any treats. I had dehydrated sweet potatoes and that is the only other thing he had. After about 2 hours he started eating his kibble and kept it down. I think I was just panicking. Thank you again |

| instinct Raw is generally considered a high quality store bought raw diet. It is one of the only ones that doesn't use synthetic minerals and instead gets them from natural clay from the earth. Sounds like you figured out that is was a fluke but I just wanted to re-affirm to you that you are feeding a good quality food |
