| I was wondering for those of you who take your dogs to the groomers, how often do you go? I have been trying different groomers in the area to see which ones I like the most. I think I tend to take them too frequently, usually once every other month. I’ve tried bathing at home, but for Nikko I would rather pay someone double than attempt to give him a bath!
I also try to brush Nikko but he HATES it. Whether I use the furminator or a regular brush I usually only get a minute or two at best before he tries biting it.
Any suggestions on that?

| We take Danzig to the groomer only twice a year. Both when he's doing his blow out and it's too much for us to handle ourselves. I have been going to Petsmart, but am researching local people in our area because I'm not satisfid with them anymore. Otherwise, we just brush him when he looks scruffy. He swims enough to keep him clean.
I haven't used the Furminator yet but usually use a slicker brush. Danzig hates it too but we just have to make him deal with it. They get used to it after awhile. |

| Snow goes to the groomer every two months or so...but I bath her every two weeks. She is brushed every other day at least. I am OCD when it comes to husky hair and she eventually learned that getting bathed and brushed was just a part of life lol

| I have had Yukon for a month and he has been to the groomer's once and I have had to bathe him about 4 times. That is mostly because he has orange stains on his fur, and a couple times he peed inside his crate and was soaking wet :-/
@pandactivity - do you have issues with Snow getting orange stains on her fur? I can't seem to get rid of them, or figure out where they come from. He is just not as white as he should be.

| I bathe Cato for shows now. Delilah gets bath maybe 2x a year. OTherwise, I use wipes or dry shampoo when I brush them. I brush weekly. |

| Snow went through a phase where she had orange on one of her paws...we found out it was from her saliva. Watch and see if you notice licking or scratching where the orange areas appear. As for keeping her white, I use baby powder after her baths. It helps keep her looking snow white until her next bath. |

| That makes sense! when Yukon and Nikko play together Yukon comes out soaking wet from him constantly putting his mouth around Yukon's head...so his saliva must be causing the stains |

What does it cost, round about, to get your Husky groomed? It's such a big job for us at home and our carpet is constantly covered in hair 9 days out of 10. |

| I've never taken Freya to the groomers. We havnt experienced a coat blow ... yet.
She does seem to be casting alot more than she usually does, but it is getting warmer now, coming into sprin nad summer weather.
I bathe her every 2 weeks. She has learned it's just part and parcel of living and she has come to accept it. She used to try to jump out, but she doesnt any more - Thank goodness. |

| I took Kerian to Petsmart 2 weeks ago she was blowing her coat. It cost 59.00 she got a bath, nail done, ears clean and teeth cleaned. I only do it about twice a year with each when they are blowing the coat. |

| We brush Arya's coat most days with a soft grooming brush. Where she attends daycare do a puppy grooming package for €50.00 which is three full grooms before 6 months of age, its done in a fun manner and to get her used to the routine before she is very strong.
After her puppy package is finished I think we will groom her 5/6 times per year excluding regular brushing and nail clipping when needed, unless she gets very mucky somehow. |

| Koda gets a bath every 6 months and between that just brushed/HVDed if blowing coat. He keeps himself very clean. Rogue is every 2-3 weeks. She gets very nasty and dirty with all her digging in the dirt box and laying around. Every time I wash her the water is brown forever. She gets itchy from all the crap in her fur if I don't do it routinely. She has a longer cost than Koda but is no where near wooly, but it's definitely thicker than your average sibe.
I always groom myself though unless we go back home, as my best friend is a groomer and is the best at a deshed. They are both getting a bath and brush Fri right before I pick them up from daycare though, so they're nice for photos on Sat since I'll have no time to do them. |
