Wow, she is beautiful! My parents are in Greenup Co. -- wish I could take her in, but I have young children and a kitten. I'll pass the word around to family in the area.

I know! Thanks for passing the word along. I would take her but we have 3 huskies (one is a foster), 2 cats, and 2 small kids, so there's no way she would work out with us. I don't want to see her put down =( I'm guessing she was an owner surrender because they have so much info on her.

She is so pretty! I wish I could take her in but I just adopted a girl from a kill shelter and I already have 3. I hope someone adopts her soon!

My dog funds are tied up right now. She looks like she would be a great looking husky with some TLC. I hope she finds a home. Do they know the quickness of the kills at that place? what time frame are we looking at for her? I'll talk and post where I can, hope she is saved.

This shelter does a lot to try to put off euthanizing until they absolutely have to, and they have a good group of volunteers that try to crosspost and publicize animals. My concern for her is that since she was an owner surrender and since she is listed as not being good with kids that she might be moved higher on the list because she will be passed over. They have contacted some rescues about her, and I shared her with Free Spirit Siberian rescue in Illinois to see if they could pull her or at least network for her. I think I am going to try to go over there Friday evening and volunteer to give her a good grooming, bath and a brush out and take some better pictures of her that the shelter could share on their facebook page.

I shared her with Free Spirit Siberian Rescue and they deleted my post from their page. I thought a siberian husky rescue would want to help a dog in a kill shelter find a home, but apparently not.

Did you send an email to Free Spirit? Lots of rescues don't like pics on their pages because it leads to lots of inquiries about a dog they may not know anything about. Rescues do evals and vetting before putting dogs up for adoption. Not all rescues do this but some just don't have the resources to do anything different. They also stick to certain geographical areas. |

I messaged them, but didn't get a response. They are in Illinois, and their page says they help dogs in Illinois and surrounding areas, so I figured that Kentucky would be considered a surrounding area. I just shared the link from the Boyd County shelter's page in hopes that if they couldn't pull her that maybe someone who saw her might be able to.

Try Northern Lights rescue in Indiana. I've read some of their dogs bios that they have pulled from out of state shelters.

| That's great news! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
