Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.

Is there an easy way to tell if a husky's sweat glands are blocked? Also, is this the same as a "hot spot"?

Brewer has had a small irritation in his groin area, and the vet thought it may have to do with blocked sweat glands. I don't have a picture, but the skin is darker shade of pink/red and some of the hair follicles have black crust at the base right above the skin.

Just curious if you think the vet is heading in the right direction, or are we talking more of an infection? Note - it doesn't seem to bother him at all, and we have not caught him licking or biting the area once.

If we are talking blocked sweat glands / hot spots, is there a natural way to treat?

We are actually heading into the vet this evening to say hello to the leader of MUSHR and take pics of a bunch of puppies they have taken in. So, if this is something a bit more serious we can act appropriately and quickly.

try Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother in it. It should help big time!

How much would you dilute the ACV, if at all?
