omg he is adorable and i swear i'm so close to emailing this guy but i know absolutly nothing about dobermans. Dakota needs a playmate and i don't want to get another puppy so this pup would be the right age.
what do you guys think husky and doberman playmates? a good match or should i look for a differnt breed?
also do rentals discriminate against them? like they do with rotts and pitts ? |

| I absolutely love dobermans!!! People do tend to classify dobermans in the same category as pits, shepherds, and rotts unfortunately I'm all for the idea though, they are one of my favorite breeds! |

| i can't find one lol i've been looking but all the spca has out here are pitts and navy housing does not allow them. i'm in Bremerton Wa if anyone knows of a husky available for adoption in my area i would jump on it. It's what my husband i would prefer. |

| There is a dobe that comes to the dog park, she is great, BUT she doesn't play with huskies, they are too rough for her. Its your call, I don't know how well they would mix. I would suggest a husky, not just because we all like that breed her, but then you already have the knowledge of the breed, and they play together very well. A husky can take the over the top playing the dobe, at least the one mine have played with, wouldn't |

| if you are concerned about that, then i would hold out for a husky honestly. Its not like you need one now, so I would just wait till that perfect one comes around, maybe one that is year or 2, that way he might be trained in stuff already. I have gotten all older rescues/adopted dogs and I love it, all house trained already. |

| I would also contact the shelters in your area and get you name on a list for a husky when one should come in they could call you.
Also if you get a second dog I would introduce them to each other an a neutral site before bring it home. |

| I agree they are like potato chips, Started with one rescue/foster fail, then a 2nd, now a third.
I like Minka, but there isn't much info on her. The other, Diego, all is good, but that possible surgery is something to consider. I also like mixing the genders up. |

| Yeah I have friends with Dobies and they were all very shy around my huskies, especially since huskies tend to be dominant. |

| There's a Husky on Seattle's CL http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pet/3346051446.html
he kind of sounds like a handful but with a stern hand and proper training I think he'd be a great dog. |

| I say this having known a couple area dobe breeders - I would be VERY careful of adopting a Dobe that you know nothing about. Doberman can have temperament issues if they are not bred well, and I have been warned this time and time again because I considered one before.
I don't think it is right to jump into a breed you have no experience with, especially one that could require a lot of training. But, that's just my 2 cents. |
