| Hey gang, Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to get fur up from the carpets. I saw some recommendations for a dyson vacuum. We have a hoover and it is not getting all of the fur up. I also saw a carpet rake (rubber). Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks, Sonora |

| We converted from a Kenmore & Dirt Devil to Dyson Animal, back in May and it was worth the bucks spent. |

Thanks, Sonora Carpet rake (rubber) doesn't work. I thought it was a good idea and bought one - doesn't work.... I have a Kirby and love it. But it's also a lot more than the Dyson Animal which a few members here have which they love also. For me, I know several people that has had 2 or 3 dogs at any given time, all shedding dogs and they still have their Kirby 15-18 years later and they still work as it has the first day they got it. The only thing any of them has had to replace was the belt - once in all the time they've had it. I also have allergies, and the vacuum bag makes it really nice for me to empty - nothing comes out of it when I'm changing the bag. The Kirby also came with a carpet shampooer and dry shampoo and that works great also. I haven't run out of shampoo yet and have 'shampooed' the main living area when my 2 pups hang out 2-3 times a year (I've had the vacuum for 2 years). And it does clean the carpet (surface) pretty good considering it's not a commercial carpet shampooer. I can also convert it from an upright to a handheld so I can vacuum the stairs and furniture with the Kirby and get all the fur off the stairs and furniture. |

| So after much research and many wonderful recommendations (THANK YOU)...we decided to go with the Shark Navigator. The first time I used it I was both amazed and appaulded....very conflicting emotions....but all in all extremely satisfied with the purchase.
Thanks for the help and advice!
