| So yesterday morning Lycus was acting very normal. He is very hyperactive and LOVES to eat. He ate his bowl of food yesterday and then when I let him out to go potty, I noticed him eating a lot of grass. I left him out there for about 30 minutes to run around in the yard but when I came back, I noticed he had thrown up about twice. So I brought him back in and he was acting a little lethargic but not so bad. Then when the afternoon came for his second meal, he didn't eat anything! I even left his bowl in his crate overnight and he completely ignored it. He also hasn't been pooping as much. Very little, so I think he might be constipated? Now this morning he is very lethargic, and doesn't want to eat anything. I even offered him some house food and he turned his head away. It's obvious he is not feeling well, but I wanted some advice. Our vet is closed until tomorrow so I need some help at least to get him to eat something |

| Thanks. I just got back from the vet. They did x-rays and blood work. They noticed that his white blood cells were high, so he has some kind of infection. The x-rays also showed that his intestines were a little funny looking. Although, nothing showed up that he swallowed anything. He wasn't dehydrated too bad either. Everything else also came back ok. They prescribed Cerenia to help him vomiting anymore. They also prescribed Primor. I really hope these help him out. They also told me to give him some Pedialight to keep him hydrated. He's just been laying down on his blanket sleeping They told me if he gets any worse to take him in so they could give him fluids overnight. Does anyone have any suggestions on helping him eat? He's completely turning away everything. Also, any ideas on what could be happening? Also, thanks June! |

| his tummy is upset which wold be why he ate the grass, they do that to make themselves vomit. I know when i have an upset tummy the last thing i want ot do is eat. I'd give him a day or two as long as he's drinking fluids you should be ok. if we can do 24 hour fasts for surgury and other reasons with dogs i don' think missing food for a couple days if going to hurt him. But i do understand your anxiety when your baby won't eat. I hope he starts feeling better soon. |

| Thanks for understanding! I hope he gets better soon too. He's drinking a lot of water so I know he is staying hydrated which is definitely a good thing. Hopefully within a day or two he will be back to his normal self! |

| Hey just a heads up (I just saw this thread), the Walgreens brand Pedialite is just as good as the name brand, and the last time I bought it was about half the price.
Hope he feels better soon! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Thank you! He is actually looking better now! He is eating very little, but it's a start! Since the meds, and antibiotics, he hasn't been vomiting anymore, and he's starting to walk around on his own again |

| Glad he is feeling a bit better. It is so scary when they are sick and can't tell you what is wrong. |
