2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Ontario is slightly north, I suppose.

I'm here because of my lovely dog (puppy?) Shala, and thought I should make an intro post after lurking for so long without an account!

I got Shala in March this year. She's a small husky (probably a runt) and she's the loveliest thing ever. Even when she's being difficult, haha.

Even though I wanted a husky, I wasn't really sure about getting one because of all the warnings on just about every husky/dog-related site ever. Things like:
-They will ruin your garden!
-They'll run away all the time!
-They'll jump over your fence!
-They'll kill your cats!
-They need to run for a billion miles a day!
-They'll destroy your house!

...and so on really discouraged me. But seriously, how bad can it really be if so many people really love these dogs?

So I got Shala. She's smart, adorable, hilarious, and full of energy. We were never a high energy household, but Shala has me outdoors all the time now. Conservation areas, dog parks, obedience class, play groups, dog festivals, everything. We don't leave her alone with the cats, and she's not yet made the connection between the backyard and the outside world thanks to the tall fence (aaaand we keep a close eye on her when she's out there just in case). I think she has a great life here, and we all love her to bits. I'm glad I read about the breed, but I'm also glad I didn't let the crazy warnings deter me from getting this amazing dog.

She's my first dog (the household's second dog) and I'd love to get another husky in the future. I'll probably be posting a ton of photos of her in the gallery/scrapbook once I get them all resized.

Welcome! Ontario can be north, depends on where in Ontario Smile
We are in Quebec, and let me tell you, Winter is the BEST with these dogs.

Shs is really cute, they really are a one of a kind type of dog. We love ours to bits.

Welcome! What a beautiful dog.

I was one of the people that bought a husky without knowing the breed too well. It's been a ride but I love the breed more than I ever thought I would. There are so many good things about them, it seems to outweigh the bad. Luckily, I've never had a problem with Danzig running away or jumping the fence. But he has a brother that keeps him check.

Have fun!
