1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

hey everyone im new to the forum and my 8 month old husky doesnt seem to be eating enough

two months ago me and my husband moved from cali to mass and in cali momo was eating two cups of blu buffalo 2x a day. in mass we moved in with my husbands parents they have two dogs who both free feed they are eating earthborn. momo was never free fed in cali and has since started eating smaller meals. i feed her seperately and she will not eat because she knows there is food out that she can eat later, but she eats only a couple mouthfuls a day

im worried because her hips and sholders are visible and other bones can be felt easily. she weighs probably between 25 and 30lbs

i dont know how to get her to eat more without stepping on my inlaws toes and changing their dogs habits

Well could you possibly speak with your inlaws about the predicament that you are in? Hopefully they are understanding and can see where you are coming from about the health of your dog if they are dog people.

Sorry, that probably wasn't the answer you were looking for! I just meant to work out a solution. Maybe explain the situation and ask if you can put down all of their food at the same general time and take it up. it will be more responsibility for you but is a possible solution for you without stepping on their toes. Or could you put her food with the others and allow her to be free fed even though it is not what you want to do?

Offer to take care of feeding ALL the dogs thus putting and end to the free feeding. Better for them that way any how. It will take a while for it to sink into the dogs heads but they'll adjust.

have you tried making it really enjoyable for her? Maybe mix an egg in with it or something? Or even hand feed.
