Tom,
Send him over :p I was expecting a digger, nipper and bad potty trainer and I got Cally, I think I'm equipped to deal with a second one lol. Good luck with him though!!

That`s another thing, Cally never nips; always plays with toys and she was the easiest ever to potty train.

We'd love to and especially would love to visit Toronto as we're big hockey fans and hear its a lovely city!

Jeter is actually doing ok. We think the nipping he does is mostly teething and affection as he has only bit hard a few times while playing rough then was sorry and kissed me when I expressed pain.

Digging we havent looked into how to address so if you have ideas I'd love to hear them.

As far as potty training it's going ok. But he seems to like to go in he boys room. I wonder if it's a jealousy thing or trying to show position in the pack.

Sounds like you guys are doing a great job with your pups! Smile Digging is in most huskies nature :p And I don't actually live directly in Toronto but it is nice there!!

Tip for the digging: just be on them and tell them no when they are doing it, like everything else hopefully eventually they will get the point. There are sprays and stuff at pet stores.... not exactly sure if they work or not! I never really had the digging problem so I'm sure someone else has better ideas.

Maybe try closing the boys door until you are sure he won't go in there?

Stick a piece of their poop on top of the hole they were digging. They won't dig there again. Smile And keep telling them now and redirecting them away from digging.

My boyfriend and I were just discussing the other day how we have a broken husky. Ours is very mellow, will play when you play with him but otherwise just hangs out with his bones and toys. Hasn't destroyed a single thing. Is potty trained, waits for his food if we tell him to. Pretty good at all the commands we've talk him. He does love everyone but will usually sit down and wait for someone to approach him. He loves to dig and I don't really mind it. He's talkative and I love it, but he's great in his crate and won't howl when I leave. He only howls or talks when he is tied and sees me but I'm far away. He's pretty great fingers crossed he stays that way through his teen years!

Learn to say "Oh Well"

I tried hard to break Saphire of this habit and have used every trick in the book (putting poop in the hole, balloons to break, sprays, etc.) The only thing I have found that really worked for Saphire is to bury some chicken wire about three or four inches deep. This doesn't stop the digging but prevents it from being productive. This is great around perimeters of fences but not so much for the whole yard!!
