| Right now I'm feeding Rocky blue buffalo wilderness Puppy (dried food) and Blue Buffalo WIlderness (canned). I feed him twice a day about a full spoon of the canned food with 3/4 of a cup of dried food. Each can lasts for 3 days (or 6 meals) so it's about 2oz of canned food with 3/4 of dried food. He is 16 weeks old and weights about 6 pounds. Is that too much food?
Also, we have a couple cats in the house and Rocky is just OBSESSED with their food. We tried putting it every possible place we thought he couldn't get too, but as a husky, he always find a way. And then he gets the runs. If I put something in the cat food he wouldn't like and gave it to him, would he stop? If yes, what could I use that wouldn't be bad for him? If no, any ideas how I could break the habit?
Thank you! |

| That sounds like a very low weight for a 4 month old puppy. Is he skinny? You shouldn't be able to see his ribs just barely feel them at that age. I would suggest spreading out his meals between 3 different periods throughout the day. Perhaps feeding 1/2-3/4 cups 3x daily. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| he actually looks like a fat ass, but i think it's because he keeps getting in the cat food and then he eats A LOT of it. The amount I'm giving was following the guidelines from blue buffalo (kinda off, since I'm mixing the food).

| I'm thinking (hoping) that the 6 pounds was a typo? That sounds like it is extremely under weight for a 4 month old puppy... I have the same problem with cat food, best you can do is feed your cats in another room where the dog doesn't have access to it. Your puppy should be getting approximately 3 cups of food daily (sometimes lower for huskies) so I would say feeding the 3/4 dry food plus spoon full of canned food is the right amount but you should actually be giving that a third time daily. So, in answer I think you need to be feeding more! |

| 26 pounds* lol sorry now it makes sense calling him unerweight!! XD
I just started feeding him twice last week before I was doing 3, it's just that my college schedule made it harder to do it 3 times but I can just get back to it with some alterations.
I tried doing the cat food in a different room. We had a baby gate blocking him that he can jump. the i turned the baby gate so it would basically block the whole door and made one of the wholes a little bigger so the cats would go in (seriously is still small) But he can get himself through it! The dog is insane. |

| I have the same problem, Neeka loves the cat food. I feed Neeka in her crate and the cat in the morning while Neeka is eating. Neeka finishes wayyyyy before the cat does, I just let her whine until the cat is done. |

| Sounds like a good solution to me ^. Glad to hear that it was a typo and your pup is 26 pounds :p If you can't do the three times a day feeding, maybe up it to 1 1/4 cups of dry food and a spoonful of wet food, then your dog will still be getting the significant amount of food |
