| Well I guess we have been due for a non check up vet visit. I'm not sure what's going on and I have yet to figure out posting pics from my phone, but she has been licking her butt hole all morning I looked at it and in one area to the side she has licked it so much its red and kind of bleeding, it also is round and sunk in some like hair is missing, she did not like me pressing on it as I was trying to see if it was filled with fluid or what. But I don't think it is as like I said its sunk in some. Vet opens at 8 and I'm wondering if I should just be there when tey open or lose 30min waiting to call then drive there, gonna be super late for work and it sucks the vet office is just near my office. Well at least its not Monday anymore! Will keep u all posted _________________ |

| Think it could be her anal glands? I hope it's nothing serious. Faith had an awful time when her anal glands impacted 2 years ago, required 2 emergency vet visits, lots of antibiotics, and a lot of $$$...but as far as medical problems go anal gland issues are really not that costly or threatening to their health in the grand scheme of things. If it were me, I would just go to the vet first thing. When Faith's anal glands were impacted I noticed she was paying too much attention to her butt and decided to wait and that was a big mistake, hours later her bottom had swollen so much and she was in so much pain. _________________ |

| Ok back from the vet and at work! what a morning, poor Jack was screaming when we left the house and gave sierra a hell of a time when we walked back in the house! so it was not her glands, i figured that but the Doc. expressed them anyways just to check and she said it was thicker then normal but still fine. the Doc. has seen a "hole" in the middle of the area and she said when she expressed the glands it did not come out that "hole" so she is thinking a bug bite (i dont think thats it as its on her butt hole covered in fur) or something pricked her causing the "hole", i think thats more the case since our yard is in pricker and horn season and they are all over and i can't keep up getting rid of the weeds causing them. so we got some spray that will help keep her from licking and has antibiotics in it, need to do that 2-3xs a day till its healed up. if it gets worse we need to bring her back in. so $77 latter i hope she is on the mend, at least my mind is not worried about it any more. here is the best pic i could get and also the spray she gave us that can be used on anything really. sorry if i gross you out! you can see on the left how swollen it is and red and the spray will keep you posted on how she is healing _________________ |

| Awwww poor girl. At least it's nothing serious! Not grossed out. I'm used to husky butt holes! I've had to pull out hanging poop SEVERAL times! Then clean them up |

| We got a similar spray for Hailey. She's had a few surface skin infections (I think from climbing into the Koi Piond). We've since reinforced the fence around the pond and they haven't been in there since (yay!) and no more skin infections for her (double yay!). Poor Sierra! Glad you got it checked out though _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Glad Sierra is not infected. My last husky had impacted and infected anal glands. Bad news!
Melissa, I thought I was the only one- on a walk, dog poops, starts scooting and making weird noises, I see grass hanging out and start looking for a big leaf! |

I always carry an extra poop bag in case I have to pull out grassy poop that's hanging out. Aren't our poop conversations AWESOME? lol |

| Glad to see she is ok but that has to be VERY uncomfortable.
Danzig sometimes has dingle berrys caused by my hair (I have no idea how it happens) but he'll try to run from them. Pretty funny but we have to help him out. |

| Poor Sierra! At least your mind is at ease. I spent $144 last week to fix Juneau up for a cold. It was a little much, but at least my mind was at ease. Hope she heals fast! - Danzig's Mommy wrote:

I shouldn't have been drinking my soda when I read that! I almost spit it out haha. I can only imagine! I have long hair, but luckily Juneau hasn't ate any of it laying around. I've watched her run from a dingleberry once, so I can only imagine how silly it is lol. |
