| Just noticed in the past week or so, my boy has changed his eating habits. I used to feed him a cup of food 3x a day. morning afternoon and evening. he would always just inhale it and seemed like he was still hungry. In the past week, he hasn't touched his food in the morning, and then when i get home from work he still doesn't eat what I put out in the morning. Then we always go out and run around for a while and when we get back he will eat. So it seems like he has decided that he wants to eat his food once a day all the sudden.
I am not concerned because he is healthy and energetic as can be, but curious if anyone else has seen this change of habit all the sudden. |

| I haven't had this happen to me per se, but I have read about many huskys on here become picky about their food. If he's still healthy and full of energy, I wouldn't worry about it. Be firm about the food. If you change it, he will learn that whenever he stops eating as much, you'll change the food.
I would just keep setting out the food at the same time/same amount as usually. If he starts to lose weight or energy, then I would change the food. Just be consistant, and make sure to gradually switch the food, not all at once! |

| Cally actually started doing this. Some mornings she will eat, others she won't. Some nights she will eat dinner, other times she won't. I still put down her food at breakfast time, leave it 15-20 minutes; if she doesn't touch it, it goes back up. Same goes for dinner. Usually if she doesn't eat dinner she gobbles up her breakfast or vice versa. If your dog is healthy, I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

| Danzig has always been this way. Sometimes he eats like he's starving to death and then other days he'll only little to no food. He's never dropped weight, so I haven't worried about it. |

| Appa does the same. It's normal. They regulate themselves quite often. |

| Dief (Diefenbaker) went picky on us about 2 months ago. Very similar patterns or lack there of, in terms of not eating at all, to wolfing down 2 bowls of food last night. We find he really has a dislike for dry kibble. If we mix it with bits of cheese or wet food, he'll often lick or pick out the good stuff and spit out the kibble. We attributed his personal no-kibble policy due to a bad bag of royal canin - it was really greasy and smelled funny. Since then he's really not enjoyed kibble unless he's starving. Reading that huskies are generally quite picky eaters, and knowing that unless they are truly sick, they won't starve themselves, we're starting to be less panicky about him not fueling up at every meal. |
