Saya started teething already and she is chewing on her toys alot now, which I figured it would happen, I also noticed that now she sleeps more during the day, She still has alot of energy the day before yesterday she was playing with a lab retriever for like 4 hours non stop. But besides that she seems to be sleeping more than usual, Do you think it has to do with teething

Rue is also like that, I assume because of teething because he is pretty healthy otherwise. He will play with me if I play with him and he will play with any dog he can, but if left alone he will usually just chew on his hoof or sleep. He has also been pawing at his muzzle, he has two canines left to come out. I would say it is normal because they are stressed from the pain.

Stark was like that as well when going through the brunt of his teething phase. As long as she is still eating and drinking fine, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't have as much experience with dogs as some of the other members on here, but that would be my hunch.

| The sleeping a lot might be related to the teething and it might not be. Keep in mind that puppies, like babies, need a lot of sleep. Growing takes a lot of energy (both from food and rest). Also dogs, especially dogs with thick heavy fur (i.e. husky's and other northern breeds), are not terribly active during the hottest part of the day. It is a way to keep them cooler. Sleeping doesn't require much movement and therefore doesn't raise the body temperature like running and playing does.
That said, if Saya is eating, drinking, and pottying normally and is still playing occassionally then I don't think you have anything to worry about. Heck most of us wish we were that lucky!

Thanks for the replies guys! I must say I have to eat my words because today she woke up with so much energy that I would actually wish for her to go back to sleep. I walked her for more than an hour and she IS still overly excited. Keep in mind that I also took her to the dog park and released her there where she was running for about 30 minutes without getting tired
