| I've finally found a place for Ava and me to live!! I've been looking for an apartment/house/cardboard box to rent for more than 4 months and now, with about a week left until school, I finally found a cute little apartment. I'm going to school about two hours from where I live now, so there was no way I could make that drive every day, especially when it gets icy. I'm on a budget, I have a dog who is over 20lbs, and I'm going to be a full-time student, so we had so much trouble finding a place. I'm so happy with it!! The best part? The landlords love dogs - especially big ones. When I met the guy to look at it, we were talking dogs and he got really excited that I had a husky. Of course, I whipped out my phone to show him pictures and he just loves her. He wanted me to text pictures to his wife so she could see too They're both really excited to meet her. And in that area, I've seen a lot of people walking bigger dogs in that area in the small amount of time that I've been around it. I'm hoping to get my keys and start moving stuff in tomorrow |

| That's great! Good luck with the move and with school. I've lucked out with landlords so far, but I worry every time I have to move. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Congratulations! I completely know the feeling of not being able to find a place. We moved back to NH and after 3-4 months of searching we FINALLY found a place. It's such a HUGE sense of relief, I hope the move goes well and you are super happy with your new place! |

| Congratulations! I though I was going to have to withdraw from my first semester of grad school because we couldn't find a house to rent. It was super stressful! Seems like you landlord will be great. Now you can focus on moving and getting ready for classes rather than worrying about where you're going to live. |

| Congrats! I know how hard it is! It took forever to find an apartment that allowed me to have 3 huskies, thankfully they've been awesome about it but we have to pay a pretty penny. |

| Congratulations!!! And thanks for sticking with it. Too many people give up dogs when faced with difficult housing situations. And landlords that love larger dogs are generally good people (in my experience). Congrats again at finding a place. |

| I don't think I could ever be one of those people who gives up a dog because the new place won't take them. Snickers and Ava saved my life last year and I'd be homeless before I could give them up. Granted, Snickers is staying with my parents and the cats, but we talked about it a lot and think it would be better for him to stay anyway. I can be home on weekends and Dad is planning to come and "visit" Ava on his days off (mondays and tuesdays), so Ava and Snick will still see each other plenty.
I'm starting to pack today and Ava is so concerned. Poor baby is following me around looking all pitiful. I haven't even packed away the bullysticks yet either lol
I found this comic about moving with dogs and its the best thing ever - Dogs Don't Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving |

| I got my key and did some measuring today. We drove around a little bit too and I'm so happy right now! There's a dog park just a few blocks away from home and its actually pretty nice. Not much shade, but it has running water, which has been pretty hard to find around here. That'll definitely beat driving an hour to go to the park. There's several healthy markets around too. And two or three vets within five minutes of my place. I'm thrilled |
