2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Yesterday my mom and I were sitting in our chiropractors office and saw a picture of a husky in the newspaper. Having a husky you're naturally pulled in anytime you see one. Once I read the caption under the picture I was physically sick.

http://blog.timesunion.com/dogs/trooper-drives-off-with-dog-tied-to-bumper/4143/comment-page-3/

Afterward all I could imagine is this happening to phoebe and just how distraught I would be.

One thing I couldn't figure out is how if the trooper was driving away straight the dog was pulled under the rear tires.

That is horrifying! I can't even imagine! It said they were tied to the front bumper, so I'm guessing that's how he ended up under the rear tires.

Oh my. Words can not express how distraught I would be. I feel really sick to my stomach after reading that. What a terrible, terrible way to die.

I read the full article and it said the dogs wore break-away collars. I've never heard of them. Fortunately, at least it worked for Liz, the other husky.

Such a sad story.

Two dogs ... it's ridiculous...

Side Note: I love how the "smallest husky the vet had ever seen" turned into a 40 lb [within standard] husky...

The officer was careless, he assumed that the dogs weren't there anymore instead of just checking himself. Personally, he should've put the dogs in his car, not tied to it. Obviously, Lois's breakaway collar failed since it didn't break away for her. So many things just went wrong that cost that poor dog its life. I doubt anything will happen to the officer since it was accident, but he should have to pay a fine or pay for the vet bill or something. Never assume things, always check for yourself!

This is sickening....Those poor dogs and I feel terrible for the owner. I don't know what I would do if I were in his position. Poor things Sad I hope there is some sort of consequence for the officer.
