Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Homeowner left their newborn alone in a room with 4 dogs. Hoping this doesn't give the breed a bad rap in this area.

I was just reading about the Husky in Canada killing an infant yesterday on Google. INFANTS AND BABIES SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT ALONE WITH DOGS People are so dumb sometimes. Guess Huskies are about to bump up on the dangerous breeds list. Damn.

Very sad story. Not sure why anyone would leave an infant alone with any dog, regardless of breed, size or temperment. Sibe's are very good with babies and children WITH SUPERVISION. It's not fair to classify them as a dangerous breed because of this.

The human race is so stupid. And who gets blamed in the end, the dogs.
There were some incidents with Huskies or Huskymix breeds over the past two years over here too, so the Husky could end up in the list over here too.
it is sad put people never learn a thing

Very tragic story - but never leave kids alone with dogs. Period!

This is the calgary story: http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/02/17/husky-who-killed-alberta-baby-believed-to-be-part-of-familys-dogsled-business/

Although Ms. Donald doesn’t know details about this case, she said it’s possible the husky wasn’t trying to harm the infant.

“It could have been a case of the animal showing nurturing instincts, or trying to move the baby,” she said.

“It might not have been a malicious attack at all.”

Just looked this up, too. Update on the Canada dog, and there is a trial set for March 15th to decide the fate:

Two tragedies. the woman in PA made a really bad decision and paid a very terrible price. Its easy to judge but why, everyone makes bad choices it doesn't make them stupid or evil. The husky has a new home. She has to live with the guilt for the rest of her life. Try to show some compassion.
