Within the next few months I'd like to start biking with Asia also (when she turns one in Oct). I had originally thought of setting up a bikejoring system for her and Kody while Ivan walky dogged with Mya, but we live in the city and having them out in front of the bike just isn't safe. Especially since we have to cross a few streets on our ride. We've gone biking with Mya and Kody and it just breaks my heart to leave Asia screaming her butt off b/c she got left behind Sad

I thought I could get two walky dogs, but I'm really short and putting the seat higher up won't work as I won't reach the floor. I hardly do now Razz

So, I ran across the Bike Tow Leash. I like it because it attaches to the wheel and I won't have to mess with the seat.

Walky dogging with Kody...

Do you think it's possible or absolutely crazy?

i can't believe no one has a harness on their dogs, well the few videos i watched....
Melissa if your gonna do a dog on each side i would use the same attachment for each side, since you cant raise your seat i would say to get 2 of the bike tow leash.

i know you say the streets are busy but i love having S&J out in front, i guess its just natural for us since its the same set up we use for hiking, snow shoeing and ski jorring.

good luck

I think it could be possible... But the problem I would have with it is your now having pull from two different locations on your Bike.

Let's say just for fun Mya is hooked up to the Walky Dog, and Kody is hooked up to your tow leash. When Mya pulls or moves around a bit your being pulled off balance a tiny bit from the Walky, and when Kody does the same your being pulled off balance from the Tow....

Even with the "sock absorber" style of the tow you'll still need to compensate.

Now your balance is being pushed from two totally different parts of your bike.

If you could try it before buying it somehow that would be cool... as it might work, but it could also be too much.

How about just coupling two together on your Walky? Very short leash or bungy between them. They can get used to running very close to each other, but I would think about using your two more calm or experienced on the single bike.

You would take up more room on the road / trail but in the end your center of balance is only being pulled off from one location, and though it will indeed be more pull at least it's not from two totally different places.

There is also the option of getting 2 of either of them and just installing them on separate sides of your bike.

Thanks Chris!

I didn't think about putting two of them on one walky dog. Hmmm. It would have to be Kody and Asia since Mya is a temperamental diva and wouldn't like Kody (or Asia) being that close to her while running. I have a coupler that we just purchased that I might be able to use. It doesn't work on walks, but might for this!

I can't get two walky dogs because I'm too short to have two of them under the bike seat. We can't afford two bike tow leashes right now either. They're each $150! Sad

I tried this because I felt horrible taking only one and not the other when hubby wasn't around. Yeah it didn't work. Sad

Unless you can raise your bike seat really high, 2 walky dogs won't work on the same bike. Your best bet is probably the other one that attaches to the wheel.[/quote]

Good luck Mel!

You might be able to get a cheap coupler and attach it to the Walky Dog, then attach each end to one of the pups. That way you could fit both of them on the same walky dog and they should have enough room to move around without tripping over each other.

I think the coupler idea is worth a shot....was thinking about trying that with Lola and Harlen, too!

Yeah, definitely can NOT raise the seat any higher. I'm a shorty Razz The seat is already a bit too high with one walky dog.

I recently bought a ruff wear coupler to walk Kody and Asia, but it just doesn't work out. Maybe it will for the walky dog! Fingers crossed!

I'll let you know how it goes! Or if you try it with Lola and Harlen first let me know!

I came across the bike-a-buddy attachment earlier today. They have the double-bike-a-buddy option that might work.

Has anybody heard of this attachment before? Does it seem sturdy to you guys?

Seems like you could get that one and do one dog on each side and the third dog trailing behind the back! lol.
