PostSubject: WalkyDog Bike Leash   WalkyDog Bike Leash EmptyFri Aug 12, 2011 7:00 pm

I have been thinking about buying a new bicycle and thought it might be cool to take Bear with me. I saw this bike leash online:

http://www.thedogoutdoors.com/walkydog-dog-bike-leash.html

Has anyone ever used this kind of thing? Will it work well with a husky or will he just pull me around? He is pretty good about not pulling to much when we go running. Can anyone offer any advice about this kind of thing?

I know there is a thread on here somewhere related to the walky dog. Quite a few of us use it. I use it with Frankie and we LOVE it. Before I bought it, I walked Frankie next to the bike while I walked the bike. then I got on just holding the leash and going slow. I just wanted to make sure he was comfortable with the bike before I invested in the attachment. He has been great on bike rides. No bike rides for the summer as it's too hot down here. But when it cools down it's a great way to burn some of the excess energy. So the walky dog get 2 thumbs up from us.

I've been wanting to get this for Blitz (I think part of his pulling problem is that I can't walk fast enough for him - and I cannot run to save my life).... I'm hoping Santa....... aka the husband....... will get me this for Christmas or my birthday Smile

Actually, I should have mentioned this on the other thread about walking them. I started walking dogging each of them before attempting to walk them together and it's so much easier for them to obey your commands!

I found the following thread to be supremely helpful in tips and product recommendations from members on their different biking attachments:
cycling with your Husky

I personally have a Springer Bike attachment for my sibe. It costs a lot more (more than double what the Walky Dog costs) but I liked the spring action and shock absorption that it offered more than the Walky Dog. I also liked that I could sort of customize the Springer more to my liking which didn't seem to be an option with the Walky Dog.

Got my WalkyDog this past Friday and we've been training with it. At first he seemed abit scared of it but after some training exercises he's getting it real fast Smile
