| I have never owned a Husky and we will be getting the new puppy in a few weeks and I am so confused on what to feed. We have Golden Retrievers and they are on Orijen adult now but when they were puppies I was told not to feed Orijen because it was to high in protein since Goldens are a large breed. Would Orijen or Acana be ok for a husky puppy? I don't want to feed any foods associated with Diamond so I know that does limit me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| I think you could feed Orijen puppy no problem. Or Acana since it's all life stages. Siberians are a medium breed dog and generally puppy growth isn't as great of a concern as it is with other breeds. Personally both of those brands would be what I would recommend _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! | Orijen Puppy Large is what I fed Luna. Switched her to 6-Fish after. She's been on it till now. Starting her transition to Regional Red now. 6-Fish stinks up the entire room when we feed her lol. |

| Orijen and Acana are great foods. If you want to explore another option, we had wonderful luck with Blue Wilderness puppy. I know you want to stay away from Diamond, but if you ever do wander back that way, Taste of the Wild is excellent and hasn't been affected by the recalls. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I'd stick with the Orijen puppy or Acana as well. _________________ |

| Just to throw out another option, you could check out our raw feeding sub-forum. As someone who is obviously concerned about the quality of food you feed, you might be interested in the value of raw. |

| Just to be positive I looked up the protein levels on Acana and Fromm. Acana is about 33% and Fromm is 24% Are you guys positive Acana won't be to much? At what age can they switch to Orijen? I believe Orijen's protein is 38%. |
