| Hello! My name is Joe, my wife is Courtney, and we have 3 furballs. 2 cats and a 5 year old Siberian named Sinatra. We just sold our house, and will be living with the in-laws temporarily, and are actively looking for a foster home for Sinatra. A friend of a friend is looking into adopting a malamute, and thought maybe they would be interested in fostering Sinatra as a trial run to see if they are really into the dog thing. I surfed over to wiki to see the similarities between the two breeds and followed the link to this forum. Ta-dah! Sinatra is great (now.) We rescued him when he was 2.5. He was almost feral, had mange, malnutritioned, had hook-worm and heart-worm and a large scar on his nose. The vet recommended putting him down (due to temperament.) The first day in my home he marked everything, toppled over trash cans, dug up the tile in a bathroom and wash room, and chewed a hole into a door. It was love at first site… After a month of unsuccessfully locating the original owner I paid to have his health conditions remedied. After 6 months of unsuccessfully finding a willing owner to breed with my new unregistered husky, we did the snip-snip process and viola, mostly no more temperament issues. He is no longer food aggressive; I frequently push him aside to act like it’s my turn to chow down. He loves people and kids; last week he allowed a 7 year old yank on his tail, pull his ears, and drag him by the collar for an hour without growl or nip. I haven’t figured out how to calm him down around other dogs and an innocent sniff quickly turns into growls and lunges. A privacy fence for home and a gentle leader for parks has mostly contained this aggressive behavior though. He loves to sing like his name sake and will even match pitch and duration of the pack he is singing with (usually me and whoever else I can con in to howling.) Our favorite song is the Hang on Sloopy and when everyone sings “O-H” he happily responds back with “I-O” (more like ryeeee-owwwww but you get the picture.) He is decently trained, with sit, lie down, roll over, "go home" (sends him to his sleeping pillow) and almost stay. He has also developed an ambidextrous shake and will offer whichever paw I ask for. He has been a blast for me to own and a great ice breaker for meeting new people. Here is a link to his facebook album: (you need to already have an account) https://www.facebook.com/coe.14#/album.php?aid=2357644&id=12419530 |

| Sinatra is adorable! And I love his name Thanks for taking in a rescue (Koda was one as well). How long are your friends fostering him? When do you get him back? As for your dog socialization issues, create a post in the Technical Forums under training and I'm sure we could give you some tips to try He sounds like a great dog an I can't wait to learn more about his life with you Welcome to the forum Joe, Courtney and Sinatra _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

We hope to have a new house in 4 - 6 months to get the tax credit. (Courtney has never bought a house so we qualify.) But are not sure exactly how long he will have foster parents. Kinda humorous Sinatra almost has more qualifiers for getting a new home than I do. We want to have a fenced yard, and a tiled mud room for him. I want a good school district, 2 car garage, and a man cave. We also do not know who the foster parents are yet. I have made a post on facebook, and with our church, so we hope to find someone we know here shortly. Sinatra charging the camera. |

Romeo and I are looking into it once one of us gets a full-time job. We're hoping to have something on paper soon so that we can start looking in September. I wish you luck! If I lived in Ohio, I would gladly help you out, but I think NY is a little too far Do your in-laws not like dogs that you can't keep him with you? _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Howdy and welcome to the forum. One of my best friends is from Columbus and is a huge fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Just to piss him off I tell him that I'm a fan of Michigan. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. That would do it. - Koda wrote:

I believe the official stance is their house/yard is not set up to accommodate a dog. I’m getting free rent till we buy our new home, so not going to complain to awful much... |

Thanks for the welcome. As for Sinatra and swimming... Well he barks and jumps from the 3 inch waves at Hoover Resovior and refuses to get wet unless we throw him in; to which sulks and gets back out of the water at first opportunity.

| I'm going to have to pick your brain on your knowledge of some of your ex-players. The Bears just signed someone from THE Ohio State University... once I get home from class I'll see who it was. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. Haha - Huskies are so funny, they will only do something when they see a point to it! Our Dino seems to like the water - here's a pic of him in a Manchester canal - he chasing after some ducks He is the stupid black and white one in the water lol the other huskies belong to Linzi (Justme on this forum). |

Are you speaking of Marcus Freeman? Great kid! I've heard him share his faith several times locally. He would have went higher in the draft if he left early, but he and several others (Laurinaitis, Jenkins) came back becaused they like tOSU college expierance so much. ...and to keep it on topic I hear he likes northern dogs. |

| Hello there! I'm glad you had the patience to put up with Sinatra and not follow the vet's recommendation to put him down. He's too adorable to give up! Hey, can you record him singing so that we all can hear him? |

It's the Doggie Door, there's no "on topic" in this section. Just pleasant chat to get to know our new members. Yeah, Marcus Freeman. He's also written weekly diary entries on chicagobears.com and they are pretty interesting. He's done a lot of homework to learn the history of the Bears and gotten involved with some charities in Chicago as well. Seems like a very intelligent, well spoken kid. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. | Bears are pretty solid. Picked up Jay Cutler in exchange for Kyle Orton and a few draft picks so hopefully he can keep the offense on the field instead of 3 and outs.
Rod Marinelli is our defensive line coach and is in the position of bringing them back to their 2006 Super Bowl form.
Our receivers are lacking. They're counting on Devin Hester to be their number one receiver, I have my doubts. I'm a bit hopeful that they'll pick up Plaxico Burres once his punishment is announced.
They let Mike Browns (SS) contract expire and he was the renowned leader of the defense. Sure, he has been plagued with injuries but their record with Brown on the field is incredible compared to their record without Brown.
Matt Forte is THE MAN. He has Garrett Wolf backing him up this year and he should be 100% healthy compared to last year.
There are a few sources claiming that the Bears will be back in the Super Bowl this year. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com. We were watching the Federations Cup on Sunday and after both US goals I cheered for the Buckeyes. As for the NFL I also cheer for my Buckeyes. When Santonio Holmes won MVP of the Super Bowl last year I was pretty happy. Will Freeman get any playing time with the Bears? |

| Freeman is competing with Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs and newly acquired Pisa Tinoisamoa who was the leading tackler on the Rams for the last couple seasons. Freeman was slated to take over Hunter Hillenmeyer's starting position but it looks like he'll be a back up for his rookie season since they got Pisa.
As much fun as it is to see the rookies get a lot of playing time and go well past any expectations in their first year (like Matt Forte last season), Freeman has some of the best in the league to learn from. If he's truly as athletic as he's been talked up to, my bet is that he'll replace Urlacher when he retires in the next few years. _________________ Posts made by me are not associated or approved by itsahuskything.com.
