1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

My mom does daycare and watches my brother's kids for him. However, Mom and Dad are going to FL for spring break, so I'm watching my adorable little neice and nephew today. Leaving Niko home all day is not an option, and bringing him in my parents' house is not an option either. They DO have a fenced yard, and I brought his crate just in case he got too excited by new kids. And now it's raining. Sad I set up his crate in the garage and left the big door open (garage door, not crate door) so he wouldn't feel so isolated and he's been out there howling for a good 30min now. Not talking/whining. Howls. The kind he does to scare the coyotes off when I put them out at night to pee before bed. Poor puppy! I hope the rain lets up so I can let him out to play! Taking a wet husky home in a new car is NOT high on my list of things I want to do today.

Aww! Rio does this too. We put her in the garage bc she chewed through her crate. We live across the highway from oil refineries. They put out a 7 am and Noon sirens. Now whenever Rio is mad, she howls EXACTLY like the sirens. It's really aggravating when you are asleep and at 7 am a husky, a great pyr and a pom all start howling on your bed!

Have you tried a peanut butter kong or something to distract him?

Our Kong has disappeared...it's probably under a bed or chair somewhere. They changed the weather forecast this morning so I was in a hurry to cut all the zip ties and get the crate into the car before I had to get my oldest on the bus and then drive directly to my parents' house to babysit, and didn't have time to look for it. Once I get my neice asleep I'm going to try to chase him around the yard for a bit.

I live 40min away. It's not really reasonable to drive an hour and a half 2 times (getting them from my brother, and then returning them to my brother), and I don't have room in my car for 4 carseats. I'm watching them 2 days this week also, so I'm hoping it doesn't rain. The good news is that when my step-neices got home from school they took him out and played with him in the yard and walked up and down the driveway. They were quite impressed with his leash manners. Smile
