I found a used harness/bungee set that I might buy, but I just can't figure out if it's actually going to FIT. According to the guy selling it, it's a "large" x-back and should fit 70-100 pounds. I'm skeptical, so I ask him to measure the neck and the webbing from the bottom center of the neck, along the webbing to where you would attach the snap. He says that the neck is 22in, and the length is 29in. Now, Niko is around 75lbs (give or take a few) so it SHOULD definately fit. But when I measure him, I'm getting more like 23-24for his neck, (according to alpine and adanac's measuring instructions) and 31 for the length. Do I assume that the guy has measure incorrectly, or is his statement of this working for that size of dog just waaaay off? Or am I measuring completely wrong?

Kya is about 60 pounds now and even though all of the large and x large harnesses say they should fit her, we have to use a medium and sometimes small depending on the brand. Always go with YOUR measurements, not the the other persons.

Also, kya measures 23 on the neck and 30 on the lemgth.

Do you have access to a pet store that carries them so that you can fitvhervand then buy the used one? That would be my suggestion. I can NEVER rely on the manufacturers measurements or the sellers.

If you're following Alpine and Adanac's measuring guide, you should go by that.

I have a recreation harness that I don't use anymore for Storm - it looks like this but in silver:
https://www.itsahuskything.com/t1742-bodhi-s-new-harness?highlight=bodhi+s+new+harness
Very similar to the x-back harness, minus the 'X'.

Storm sounds like his measurements are the same as what you're looking for?
Storm is 74 lbs, and his neck measurement (as instructed by Alpine/Adanac) is 24-25".
His measurement from breastbone (going under, through his front legs) to base of tail is 31".

Would you be interested in buying the harness for $12 (includes shipping)?

I have a black multi-sport harness from Adanac:
http://stores.adanacsleds.com/-strse-4/Multi-dsh-sport-harness-with-polar/Detail.bok
It was measured for Ginger's neck size, but the girth is too big on her. The girth will fit Storm, but the neck is to small.
I'm looking for a new home for it, so if you're interested, the neck measurement will fit 20-22 inches (measure one side from top of breast bone to base of neck and multiply by 2). And the girth will fit 28-35".

ooh!! That sounds like a better size, and if it's the same harness that Bodhi is using, it would work perfectly well for him to pull my bike! Smile I'll have my husband help me measure one more time tonight so that I know Niko is standing in a good postion and get back to you!
