Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | Took the dogs back up to Blackwater River State Park to one of the lakes today. This was a much longer trail than the last one, clocking in at 4 miles. It was a bit warm, but we had plenty of water and the dogs really enjoyed themselves. Ghost's boyfriend Caesar joined in on this hike as well. Bear Lake: Ghost contemplating a swim. She didn't, there were signs warning about gators all over the place. Heading up the trail: The one second she wasn't dragging me up the trail: Ghost and Caesar: NW Florida's excuse for a hill: Lunch break! Hike's over: Tired puppy: _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. NW Florida's excuse for a hill:
Hill?! Where? I had a lab mix in Florida about 18 years ago, I also took her hiking a lot in Florida. I'd let her off leash when we are deep in the woods and she'd run around real happy. But I never let her off leash when we are near any type of water: streams, rivers, lakes, even a mud hole. I was always afraid she might get too close to a "log" that turn out not to be a log at all. Luckily it never happened and she lived to the rip old age of 15 before passing to the doggie heaven. |

Exactly I had no problem letting her frolic around in the river last weekend, because it was clear and shallow where we were. Around Bear Lake? Yeah, never. Not only gators but snakes. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
