| Rio is a purebred husky, obviously, but she is full grown and weighs just 25 pounds. I know she is alittle on the lean side, but she is TINY.
Does anyone else have a tiny husky? |

| I do know someone who has a girl a couple weeks younger than Ghost who only weighs 25 lbs. Sometimes that happens naturally, and sometimes it's the result of crappy breeding. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Well, I don't want to say that it is the result of crappy breeding, but her sibs are all huge, and she is tiny. and very wolfy looking. lol.
She looks like a midget next to Kya. If I can get them to stand next to each other without trying to play, I'll take a pic to show the difference. It amazed me. Kya lays on me and its like I was killed by a bulldozer. Rio laid on me this afternoon and i didn't even realize it was a husky! I thought it was my poms!! |

| She will be a year in May. I know Kya had a huge growth spurt after she turned a year, but she didn't get taller, just heavier. Rio is shorter height and length wise, and lighter pounds wise. I know they aren't all the same size, it is just a HUGE shock. |

| As long as she isn't underweight, I wouldn't worry. Some are just tiny. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| I'm guessing she is alittle underweight (she wasn't neglected, but didn't have top notch care either,) but she hasn't eaten since we brought her home. I know that Kya it took her several days before she ate as she was nervous, and today was the first time she peed... (on me in the kitchen, mind you) but I keep offering her treats, food, raw bones, etc. She hasn't taken anything yet though. |

| We have/had another member on here with a tiny female like that. That member isn't on as often as they used to be but they do check in every now and then, I can't remember off the top of my head their username or the exact size of their small sibe (I believe they have 3, 2 "normal" sized and 1 little one, all adults). Their small adult one was twenty some pounds also. But yes, it can and does happen just like there will be oversized huskies even from the best of breeders.
At 10 months old I wouldn't discount possible future growth between now and 2-3 years of age. She is probably done growing height wise (what is her height by the way?) but she could very well continue filling out...or she may not...only time will tell.
As Kristina said, if she isn't underweight I wouldn't be worried. And even if you think she might be slightly underweight that wouldn't concern me either. Once she settles and feels comfortable in her new home I'm sure you'll get her up to her ideal weight in no time. She'll take food soon enough. My sibe took only a day to get an appetite but both my chi girls held out for about a week or so before they started eating.

| She just ate her first (mostly) raw meal!!!! She wouldn't take it from me but I mixed it with a raw egg and a few scoops of wet food and she devoured it! |

| I have 2 from the same litter, almost 2 1/2 years old. The female is 35 lbs, up from 31 when we put her on raw, and the male is 52 lbs, down from 55 when he went on raw.
Juno can pull harder, run faster, and do everything more energetic than Bleeker, despite her small size. She usually kicks his but when they are wrestling as well. |

| Our female (Isis) is pretty small as well. She was about 30lbs when we got her, and is up to just under 35 now. our male (Dante) is quite a bit taller than her and slightly under weight at 53lbs. Both are just under a year and a half in age.
Isis pulls harder in her harness, runs faster, and can easily roll Dante over when they play (as well as leap over his back). |

| I noticed today that Rio can jump over Kya and she likes to pounce on top of her. I got some pics of it and will post later.
I feel ALOT better now! |

She is so tiny that she will crawl onto the couch and cuddle up next to me and just lay there with her head on my shoulder. Kya would NEVER do that! I love having a tiny husky! |

| Sadie is comming up on 9 months and she weighed in at 36.6 lbs at the vett this week. I thought she was super small but i guess not anymore. I figure its because most pups we meet are male and there just much bigger. |
