| So at 4 AM this morning, I get woken out of a dead sleep to someone POUNDING on my front door! Evo and Kira (Wire haired Parsons Russell) went crazy and barked and growled until I opened the bedroom door and let them out first. I get to the door and there's this HUGE guy shining a flashlight in the window next to my door screaming a name at me. At this moment, my sweet, loving, wouldn't hurt a fly Evo became PRIMAL!!! I was shaking and had the phone in my hand trying to dial 911 and Evo is plastered to my leg, nose pressed to the glass, ears back, teeth bared, growling, fur sticking up all over his back, doing his evil "cough" (that's his "I'm not sure of you so I won't give you the fun bark" bark). I've NEVER seen him so protective and evil. I was SO proud to know that he was willing to protect me at all cost. Now, this guy scared the hell out of me since Lee is now permanently working in Oregon and I'm home "alone" in Florida and 3 1/2 months pregnant. This guy kept screaming a name at me through the window next to the door and I kept saying, "No! Go Away!" Finally, I told him, "For the last time, I don't know that person, I'm not that person and get the hell away from my door!" He left, I managed to call 911 and the police came around and turns out that this guy was doing a REPO and is also a BOUNTY HUNTER!!! OMG!!! Someone used my address for their stuff and jail! My Evo didn't leave my side the entire evening and even slept on the bed the rest of the night. If I turned over and he wasn't touching me, he would move until his paw or nose was in physical contact with me. What an AMAZING companion I have with Evo. It seems that his German Shepherd/Husky/Great Dane combo is a good one and he knows when to protect and when to play. I'm not a religious woman, but I thank God that I had that dog at 4 AM this morning. FYI - Kira is a primal bitch all the time so I knew if that guy got in, he was losing his ankles and balls! Just had to share how proud I am that I have such a terrific animal! Can you imagine THIS as primal? |
