Feeding Luna Orijen Empty
PostSubject: Feeding Luna Orijen   Feeding Luna Orijen EmptyWed Feb 15, 2012 12:02 pm

Hello All!!!!

When I first bought Luna the puppy store offered us Royal Canine. After doing much research I decided to go with the brand Orijen Puppy Large. I finally switched her to adult food and am now feeding her Orijen 6 Fish Dog. Orijen offers about 3 different types of Adult food food for dogs. Does anyone have an experience with Orijen? My main question is could I switch out her food with the different types of adult food that Orijen has to offer every 1-2 months? Just want her to have a variety of food to choose from and also the 6 Fish does stink! haha

Hi Arto!

Orijen is a great food and comes highly recommended. Switching flavors should not be a problem and is also recommended if your dog can stomach it (some dogs have sensitivities to switching or different foods). I would try switching gradually at first. Once you know if he does well on each flavor, you can switch between them as you like Smile

When we aren't feeding raw or for my kibble dogs... I switch Acana flavors every bag (sub-company of Orijen.) We don't have any problems.

She hasn't had any issues switching from the Puppy Large to 6 Fish. I'll give the Regional Red a try next! Is it bad to switch it every 15lb bag? Quick note this is my first Husky and Pup/Dog as well Very Happy .

Thanks!

Orijen is fantastic, I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said. How often you switch formulas will be entirely up to you and how well your dog handles the changes. Acana is also great if you want to switch between those formulas AND Orijen's. Orijen & Acana are made by the same company, Champion Pet foods. Can't go wrong with either.

I have been feeding my dogs Acana Provincial Prairie Harvest (Grain Free) for several months and have been very satisfied with it. Great food for a decent price.

we feed TOTW and i switch flavors every 30lb bag as ours dont have issues with the switch. its good to mix it up as long as Luna can handle it, if you dont want to do it cold turkey you can mix the end of the bag with the new flavor for like a week then do the main switch.
