Sounds like she wasn't quite weaned yet. Make sure you soak her dry puppy food with warm water so that she can eat it ok. I went through all this with Kale so I know exactly how you feel right now.

I got Diesel at 10 weeks old. I think he was about 10-12 pounds. I remind myself of my mother talking about me lying on her chest and how she remembers exactly how long I was.... I remember carrying Diesel around the moment I got him and how big he was....soo fuzzy. It was totally love at first sight with me and him.


This was the day I got him, it's a crappy cell phone picture. I was going through some stuff back then, I really wish I had more pictures of him from that day.


This was him at 22 weeks and he's still not that big. I think he was maybe around 20 lbs then. Diesel isn't really that big, he's 18 months and he hasn't gained any weight since he was about 14 months, so I don't think he'll get much bigger. He only weighs 45lbs right now. I like him smaller.

This is really great and helps a lot with my idea of how old Sky really is! Keep em coming it's a great excuse to show off your puppy pics

He was seriously the cutest little baby, obviously I'm a bit biased but when I saw that pic on the breeder site I knew he was coming home with me

Your not suppose to take a puppy from its mother until it is 8 weeks old , If the lady had to get ride of her fast she probably "Fibbed" a little. I had that happen to me with a shelter, they told us we adopted a 12 week old puppy but when we took him to the vet he was only 7 weeks(He was a large 7 week old).

Anna was 6 weeks old when we brought her home and she weighed 8lbs. Here is the night we brought her home, if it works right

This is an old thread from Feb, over 6 months ago. From the concern shown at making sure she had her pup's age correctly, she didn't know her pup was so young. I'm not attacking you, but from what you said it sounded a little accusing. I'm pretty sure this member is also no longer active.

When I got my first pup, Diesel he was 10 lbs at 8 weeks. Indy was 8 lbs. at 8 weeks and Rebel was 14 lbs. at 11 weeks. Indy has always been small, he currently weighs 47 lbs at 16 months.

Oh no I was not saying she knew, I was saying that is why some breeders..well not very knowledgeable breeders(or accidental litter owners) will fib on the age.

This is Freya at 6 weeks old.

My pup Oakley is 6 weeks and 1 day and weighs estimated 11 lbs. Not sure if he is fat or just a large pup.

Sierra, Koda was 10lbs at 6 weeks and was not fat at all. Topped out at 53lbs.

Well that's great to hear! I was a little worried, but what husky mamma is always a little worried.
