| Long story on Josie. But here it goes...... A couple in MN around the citys had her for a little over a year or so. Then they got rid of her. That i know of the wife had a daycare, So porbly had to get rid of her to be certifide. Then a good friend of mine and his wife got her from the humaine society. They had her for about 2 years. When they got her, her name was Jazmine. But they do come over here alot and visit and thought they would be bring her with. Well my sistor has a daughter name Jazmine, so my buddys wife wanted to change her name just incase the kids were over when there were there, so she changed it to Josie. Well the time came, they got married, and ended up buying a house inside of Mankato, (They were living in the country before hand) And they also had a little on on the way . So they desided what would be best would be to get rid of her to someone that could take care of her and give her the atention she would need, as they thought they werent gonna be able to anymore. With his wife being pregent and moving into the city more and having a small back yard. Well just so happens.. That the first day we met Josie was the day after they put her up on craigslist. Well.. When seen her at first sight thought she was just the prettiest dog. Hailey didnt like her much she actually started a few fights lol. But before they left was talking to my buddy and i found out that they had her on craigslist and that the day they actually came over to my place with her that someone was supose to come look at her. Which they didnt sence they came over here to my place. Well when i found that out. I just HAD to have her. And a week later i went over there to bring her to her new and last home she would ever have to have Heres Hailey as a puppy. She was so cute.. Hailey testing Josie's bed before she comes home. (Its fully Haileys bed, Josie is afraid to walk on it :/ ) First day at her new home. (Was a 98% outside dog) First time/night gonna be staying inside for now on <3 <3 <3 |

It depends. They have there times. Hailey is the leader of the house tho. When Josie first got into the house they had there issues, Josie knocked out the last 2 of Haileys teeth (she has bad gums) over a few weeks when they had to "size" each other up and Hailey had to prove and force that she is the "leader". Ever time they really got into an actual fight, Josie would stop when we would yell which was good, Then we would have to pick up Hailey and carry her into the other room because she wouldnt stop :/. Other then that no big probloms at all. But recently January 1 play time got a little ruff And as Josie went down at her Hailey was jumping up at Josie and they met pretty good. Hailey got a nice wound on the head, and got tweeked a bit, Pinch nerve or just sore. First week Hailey had a realy hard time walking, very uneasy, and looked sore and just not good. Took her to vet 2 times total. First time was the morning right after it happend then took her a few days after that. Both times the vet said she probly just has a pinched nerve which was causeing her to have troubles walking. Well good news is, that shes doing really well now, walking fine, starting to play with her toy and just get around alot better then the first week. Even starting to go after Josie again. Still just a little uneasy but shes doing amazing. Was such the hardest thing ever to see her barley be able to walk at all. Josie even was sad to see her hurting. Heres what she looked the morning after. It happend at 1030 at night. She was first dog threw the door that morning. Looks like a UFC fighter to me that went the full 5 rounds for the championship. Thats the wound. Dont look like much but it was pretty good, Lots of blood even a few stains on the carpet. And Hailey all drugged up. Shes my little trooper. ^ And yea thats the Travelocity Roaming Gnome in the background lol. |

| Ha! Love that you have a Roaming Gnome! Poor lil Hailey. Looks like she had it pretty rough there for a bit. I'm glad she's feeling better. How sweet that Josie seemed concerned... I hope my two will get close like that. |

| Two of my chi's do this to Nanook also, I hate it but I don't know what to do. I'm affraid when he gets bigger he may try to put them in their place. We had him neutered 2 weeks ago in the hopes that he will not have that dominate attitude. Strange because they don't do this to the other large dogs in the house.. Maybe they will warm up to him at some point.. I hope so.. |

Something tells me that your two chis that do this to Nanook are the ones asserting their dominance/position in the pack. Nothing wrong with that and also there is no harm in Nanook putting them in their place so long as it is not overly violent or causing harm to the chis. My sibe is the pack leader amongst our 3 and he regularly puts my chi girls in their place. He uses enough force to send them a clear, unmistakeable message but without physically causing any real harm even if the chi girls cry out in protest. If Nanook is capable of doing the same then I'd just let them be and figure out their order themselves. Chis can have a tendency to cry bloody murder though (at least mine do) so it's important to monitor them and determine whether any real harm was done or if they're just being babies. Sometimes all my sibe has to do is give my chi, Glory, a certain look and she rolls over or retreats with tail tucked between her legs while whining. lol _________________ |

| Thank you Valerie, your right as of now the Chi's are the ones asserting their dominance over him but I'm certain that will change with his age and size. It's good to know someone has been through this and listen to their advice and any advice is very appreciated as you know what we are going through.. So any more you want to give I accept with an open mind.. Thank you so much.. Makes me feel a little better!! |
