I took this video the other day when Caesar came over to play. He and Ghost were having a high ho time, but every time they got too close to me Lulu would run them off to the middle of the yard.

It's actually really annoying behavior, and has gotten her ass kicked once at a dog park by a dog that had some aggressive tendencies...

Aggressive dogs shouldn't be at dog parks . Bella almost got her ass kicked yesterday because of that.
You should fix the behavior if you don't like it :o

It was a small dog park on base and the girl has been working with her dog to train out the aggressive tendencies. We all sort of know each other up there, so none of us really cared. The dog was playing just fine until she got too close to Lulu who had a ball with her. Lulu went into guard mode and went after this dog, who decided she wasn't going to be run off and pinned her to the ground. That one was absolutely 100% Lulu's fault. Most dogs will let her run them off, this one didn't.
If you want to see more of her guarding, check out the video I posted in the training section. She loves playing frisbee but guards so bad she snaps at us when we try to take it from her to throw again.

And, that's really weird that my post posted twice. Not sure how that happened...

That's literally the exact story I posted. Almost word for word ! Except I guess I got a little ahead of myself with taking him and it wasn't his fault at all. I'm just so used to taking storm after a vet visit I kind of auto piloted to the park.

Grrrrrrrrr, thats what happen last weekend with that lil blk. & white Boston Terrorist, and finally Adobo put a stop to it when she decided she wasn't going to get out of its way. I expressed my displeasure and the owner finally hooked it up and departed. To everyone else's relief.

I know it's annoying behavior, but I must say (and don't kick my a$$..lol) that Lulu is so cute in her little shirt!!! And she loves you girl, she's protecting you. I can tell by your tone that you love the little stinker too Lulu and Mya must have been twins in another life with the guarding! Mya WILL NOT let you take her toy if she's in guard mode. This usually happens with toys she's trying to "kill". The kong wubbas, airballs, etc she brings to you to play. She's so weird..lol.

She is cute as hell now that we got her a good haircut, and I love finding cute little doggy shirts and sweaters for her. And yes, the little bugger is growing on me. I just wish she'd play with Ghost (or any dog for that matter), because Ghost does SO much better when she has a playmate. She's been playing all weekend with Aaron's parents dog and she's good as gold.

Yep, I agree that Ghost needs a play buddy. Mya plays with Kody, but not like my parents dog does. He loves her and they just chase each other non stop!!!
