Awwww, they look like fwends. Did her color darken over the last few weeks? Seems like she was lighter at first.

Her color has definitely changed. Her coat was nasty when we first got her and she's since shed the entire undercoat... there's so little fluff left on her now! It's so much healthier than it was. Way different than Koda who is STILL blowing. His coat pretty much moults all year round.

The dogs exhausted after the 5 mile hike
The view from our lean-to...I love the Adirondacks
Koda's favorite spot (beneath the lean-to) [ Hailey being the wolf she is
(Note: Hailey is a RARE husky that we tested this weekend to be fantastic off-leash. I'm thinking her years of neglect makes her loath to anger us because all it takes is a sharp "Hailey!" and she stops dead (even when chasing wild animals as we found out). She was only off-leash in this million acre park at our campsite-- and not while sleeping either. While hiking or sleeping, she was always leashed.)

(Try putting an elk 30 yards in line of sight and see if she's better than Ridik.)
Nice to see your gang out and about. I can't believe the look of them at five miles. That's classic! Hailey's color is almost a spitting image of Sioux now.

I'm sure she'll never be as good as Ridik or any of your dogs. And FTR- this isn't something we plan to test regularly, if at all. It was just a hunch I had (that she would be good) based on her personality, and we felt this was a safe environment to test it in.

This is going to be something that scares people into NOT trusting their dogs offleash right? Cause I probably should be reminded of that.
She does look good, doesn't she? I wish you could feel the difference in her coat from when we first got her!

It's been a while, so here are some pictures that I just took. The kids are sure enjoying the sunny/warmer weather! Now it's time for sunbathing! (Of course Koda has gone on a hunger strike though-- I hate the weather change!)
And for all you landscaping people... here's the koi pond we inherited. It used to be FILLED with leaves. While we were on vacation, our neighbors came over and cleaned it out! Apparently they took 1.5 wheelbarrows full of leaves out of there. They also gave us the turtle and the pump to make it all work. HOW FREAKING CUTE IS THAT? I my new neighbors!

That little pond is adorable and so much gardening potential around it too! A bit small for koi, maybe some little goldfish perhaps.
Love the pics of the dogs hanging out in the yard.
Oh and you do have some very nice neighbors!

We're not actually going to put any fish in it... the dogs would eat them in a heartbeat. LOL. We're going to scrub it out though and put some bleach in it to keep it clean and just have a nice little water feature John was against it at first, but since the neighbors cleaned it out and set it up, he loves it. I'm really excited about it!
And yes... they're so awesome. The same neighbor came out to help us rake the 1/2 acre of LEAVES that were covering that lawn a few weeks ago. They seriously rock!
