Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I usually only bathe mine once every 3-4 months. Indy has been battling really dry itchy skin so I only wipe him down after our daily walks and when we go running and hiking I just brush the dirt out and wipe him down with a damp towel. I use oatmeal shampoo from petco...I can't remember the brand at the moment. When we go to the beach or the lake it's a totally different story lol. He loves to swim and dig and roll around in the sand/mud. Other than going there he is a big baby and tries to stay as dry as possible. When it's raining it's hilarious, he tries to step around the water lol!

I'd really lose it if Indy went 8+ miles! I try to never give him the chance to bolt or escape, I'd panic! Glad to know Adobo made it back okay!

Well Beth says she has a bigger sigh of relief when Adobo makes it back home, just so she can see me finally relax. I don't do escapes well but I do get a lot of exercise in looking for her. (8+ miles this time)

Woah, Adobo got a long way!

Seriously!!! Shocked

I'm the one that covered 8 miles plus, good lord who knows how many miles she covered.

I always laugh after the fact but while she is gone feelings run the whole circuit of dread & being po'ed with myself for letting her slip away.

How did she get out again? You said she escaped from the playground? Like literally a playground or some area that you have for them to play?

I take them to this small playground that is next to the school. Adobo loves it there because of all the playground equipment there, since she is fast as a bullet Biko can never catch her there weaving in and out of various pieces. Unfortunately the gate doesn't secure worth a darn and I normally stand guard within a few feet of it to prevent what happen from happening.
Well Sunday when we were there I noticed some hold down spikes were poking up several inches and went to pound them back in with the heel of my boot. After about 30 seconds or more I realized the kidz weren't running and looked up to see why. Well Adobo saw her opportunity and took full advantage of it, Biko though stayed with me instead of making the get away (good boy). By the time I saw which direction she went she had easily a 300yard plus head start on me. Thus the big chase of futility. How often do you bathe...? - Page 2 1625187496

The kennel we have here at home has yet to be escaped from.

I totally thought it was weird that I didn't have to bathe Kya as much as my Poms!!! This was really helphul. I've had kya alittle over a year. Yesterday I called the groomers to have her groomed bc I realized I hadn't had her groomed since the summer when she got shaved. (which I found out shortly after I was misinformed by my vet to shave her down.) she has been in the mud, under the house, in horse manure and she still just barely even smells!

lol yea never listen to vets about nutrition or grooming (unless they are holistic) Wink I'm a vet tech and I definitely clash with my bosses about those two subjects lol
