| Since I have been actively looking to rehome a dog, I am kinda shocked on some of the rehome fees. I'm not talking about shelters or rescues. I understand they need to recoupe costs to help out more dogs. I'm talking about craigslist dogs or other owner type of rehomed dogs. I've seen a rehome fee as high as $700 and let me tell you this dog is not show quality. I feel like $300 or more is asking too much to ask so that you can dump your dog off on someone else. Honestly, if you are dumping your dog, I don't feel that you should get to recoupe your costs. Is that too harsh? |

| I agree - some people need a reality check. You're not making your money back, peoples!
For some of the younger dogs, the craigslist ads are actually from breeders disguising themselves as people rehoming dogs - that happens alot out here. |

| I think a fair rehome fee is $150. Anything over that on CL I flag lol
My dogs were free besides Mickey and Rodeo who were $65 from animal control. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| There is a beautiful white sibe that Jennet posted a link to on craiglist but they want $350 for her. I just feel like that is too high. If she was at the shelter or a rescue, I would pay it cause they need to recoupe those costs to help other dogs. I just don't think people should make money off of selling their dog that they couldn't handle. I didn't know if it was just me that felt that way. |

| We paid 250 rehome fee (to the shelter). Ghost had been neutered, chipped and vaccinated, plus they had looked after him for a long time, so it seemed fair enough.
I think some of these people on craigslist are just trying to make money. A lot of BYBs pretend they are 'rehoming' a dog and then a few weeks later it just so happens they are doing the same again... |

| Ummm yeah, $300 is too much for a rehome I think. We paid $400 or $450 for Mya at 8 weeks old from a BYB. If you're rehoming your dog for whatever reason you shouldn't be out to make $ back. You should just be concerned that he/she goes to a good home. Period. Some people really disgust me!! |

| I got Biko off Craigslist for $100.
I'm like arooomom but my maximum before flagging is $200. I feel above that and they're involved with BYBs. |

| Neo was free, he even came with a bag of beneful lol. Imo if you get rid of your dog because you cant jeep it anymore, then you shouldn't charge a fee to do so. |

| Blitz was free, Bullet was $150.. he was 6 weeks when we got him. If we would have waited 2 more weeks to pick him up he would have been $200 cuz he would have come with 1st shots, but I wanted to take him right away. I agree with Jill, if you can't keep them then they don't charge a fee. A lot of people just do it to make money, it's sad. |

| $200 each from the rescue - chipped, all vaccines and checked over by the vet! Plus lifetime "tech support" for any husky issues. They're definitely not making any money, based on what I've paid doing rescue lately for bailout fees, vet, collars, leashes, etc! Plus food, boarding, meds, additional vet fees for sick dogs, etc. |

| Ranger was free from a soldier immediately deploying to Afghanistan. My other 3 came from breeders.
Putting a dog on Craigslist for less than $100 is dangerous. I personally know a woman and her husband(she was my best friend in high school and I totally detest her for this) that get purebred dogs as well as birds off Craigslist for free to $100 and sell them! They do get utd on vaccinations but the point is that they then SELL the dogs, Her husband told me he made $800 off one dog....disgusting! |

| We paid $250 for the Appadog, and I would gladly have paid more. This guy was well taken care of, and well behaved. We didn't have to deal with potty training, chewing, mouthing, night time bathroom breaks, etc etc. That was worth a lot to us - we weren't in a position to handle those issues. Now we could, but back then we needed a well behaved dog. |

Happens here too but we are one of the largest BYB and puppy mill states. |

| Both our dogs were free. Koda was a rescue referral and we paid about $125 to a rescue to help take care of him for 2 weeks because John's parents backed down on letting us have him in their house before we left for school. Hailey was a re-home that we were directed to through a local shelter. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| There is a woman in Ft. lauderdale who does this. Seamus actually came from her. I found out quickly after when I found his real mom on Facebook. She was so upset that this woman she entrusted her dog to had actually rehomed him not even 2 weeks later. She was lead to believe that Seamus was going to live the rest of his life with this woman. After that I did a lot of googling and her name popped up a lot in warning threads telling people not to let her adopt anything from them, she works under like 3-4 different names email addresses and phone numbers.
When I found out what really happened I had a marine friend of mine go over there and get my $80 "adoption" fee back. Sorry lady, I'm not going to fund your scam. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! | We got Isis for $150, with her crate and all of the paperwork the first owners got when they bought her, so we know she wasn't flipped. I felt a little bad for them, as they obviously got in over their heads. 2 kids under 5, one on the way, living in a townhouse, no fence, no real yard and they bought a husky (but didn't get a leash or a collar). |

| We paid $120 for Kira off of CL. Hindsight, she should have been less because she was not UTD on shots nor spayed. Supposedly purebred but no papers. I don't regret it though because she is well behaved, housebroken and a pure sweetie. |

| I ended up paying $150 for Piper on CL. She is suppose to be UTD on shots but he won't answer my emails to get proof. She will probably have to get all her shots again. That is, if he wasn't lying. I still think he lied about her picture. |

| Bodhi was a rehome from a breeder that I got when he was a year and five months. He cost $250, was microchipped and had his first shots. He was housebroken and crate trained. I feel this was totally fair, because he was well cared for. I would have paid more for him. |
