I think if Sabaka was in that guy's pack, he would only be there for about 10 minutes and then he would be in Canada. But I don't know, maybe that guy could make him obey...

haha I've seen this video before. This is pretty common for the Eurohounds (GSHP/Alaskan crosses). My Eurohound can run loose at home and she has a really good recall.
Last year at a race, a lady had about 20 Eurohounds with her. It was about 6am, we were at a hotel and everybody was starting to get moving to get ready to go to the race site. When she let all of her dogs out of the dog truck, she free dropped the whole lot of them! I was amazed, they all stayed right next to her or right next to the truck and never wandered off. This is why I want my whole kennel to be Eurohounds when I'm older.

This can work with Siberians too, but I´m quite sure that he used alot of negative reinforcement to make them behave that way.

I kind of doubt he used any negative reinforcement. Eurohounds can be very sensitive and any negative reinforcement will make them shut down and not want to do anything. They're also very personal dogs. They love to be with their musher. I didn't train mine to stay with me at all--She just likes being with me. She knows good things happen when I'm around and has no desire to run off.
I wasn't there though so I don't know. **shrugs**

Sure it could be that he used none of it, but this reminded me of videos of aGerman musher tht has German Trailounds and he says he uses Prongcollars etc. on every dog the first time, so that they know right from the start who they have to listen too. Of course not all Mushers are that way I guess but I think there are enough of them.
As I saw the dog that is running after them i remembered how much some dog owners pis sme off, the woman is calling her dog to komm, that´s the hier shouts you hear. She calls the dog so many times and he just don´t gives a f....

OM Flippin' G! No husky that I've had would do that! They'd all be following Sabaka to Canada.
The place where I took Bodhi for behavior training offers off-leash training. The trainer assures me that siberians can be trained to obey off-leash. I haven't done it because the training is at an open park with a highway on one side and the river on the other. The trainer says that Bodhi won't run off because of the other dogs. But I am not convinced...
