Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

was browsing the net for some info on Huskies and came upon this site! so decided to join the community!

a little background info on me and my Dog Juliet...

i am a new to this breed. Prior to Juliet (my Husky) i had 2 wonderful dogs a Pitbull named Taz and a half-breed Pitbull/Rotty mix named Nova. the oldest of the two was Nova. i got him when he was a pup back in 96' at a Pet Shop in Arizona. My GF and I (now my wife hehe) fell in love with him. So we took him home and he lived till Mid-2010. hardest thing i had to do was put my boy down due his illness. he had arthritis on all his joints and the Dr. said there was nothing we could of done for him to make him comfortable Sad

Somewhere in the middle of raising my boy Nova. I got Taz (pitbull) from a breeder around the year 2000. It was a gift to my wife for her Bday. i still remember the day i picked him up..he was soo cute! contrary to popular belief Pits are not bad dogs! he was the sweetest dog! not even once he growled at anybody. But Tazzy Wazzy (as wife calls him) had a penchant for catching mice and small critters from our backyard and hiding it in his dog house! lol the screams in the morning feeding time that my wife would let out because she found dead mice in his blankets were priceless. Dec. 2010. Taz had a brain tumor. So i had to make another decision..this broke my heart. being i just went thru this a few months back with Nova.

We had both of our boys living with us in a big back yard. they both lived and played together with the occasional brotherly fight. but nothing a cold water hosing down couldnt cure Smile . Nova and Taz was the best of friends and was also my best buds! So i was apprehensive about getting another dog. till one day i happen to be browsing craigslist and saw this ad for a brother and sister duo (Juliet and Jacob) Husky that was looking for a Forever/Foster home. So we decided to go see both of them and again my heart opened up! We fostered them both was deciding if we were going to keep both or just one. We really didnt want to break up the two but living arrangements would only allow us one dog. We kept Juliet and Jacob was adopted to another family.

Now its just me and my girl Juliet or as we affectionately call her "Joo Joo"!!! she is such an awsome dog. a Smart alec, comical, devious, affectionate and full of energy. So i hope to learn more about her breed as time goes along!

On the one hand, you become a fierce defender of the ways in which your little one is perfectly ordinary — all the things he or she can do that are just like what everybody else does. And yet, you never lose sight of how absolutely extraordinary that very ordinariness is, how difficult, remarkable and rewarding that fight to be 'just like everybody else' has been."  -Gwen Cooper, "Homer's Odyssey"
