Here is my pack!
This is Jazz, she is a 6yr old female. She is what we mushers call a Eurohound which is a cross between a pointer and an Alaskan Husky. Jazz runs in wheel on my sprint team. Jazz was rescued out of the local humane society last fall.
This Is Jacob, he is a 10 yr old male. Jacob is what we mushers call a "hound" which is a cross between Greyhound and Alaskan Husky. Jacob runs in lead on my sprint team. Due to his age I think this will be his last year racing. :'( I will still use him after for leader training and what not but I think his racing career is coming to an end.
Jacob is one of my first sled dogs.
This is Salsa, she is a 6yr old female. Salsa is an Alaskan Husky/Greyhound/Saluki mix. She also runs in lead on my sprint team. Salsa came to to me with Jacob, they were my first "real" sled dogs.
This is Char, she is a 3yr old female. Char is a Siberian Husky from racing lines. She runs in wheel on my sprint team but I'm going to see if I can convince her to lead for me this fall.
Char is the newest addition to the kennel, she came to me last winter. I wasn't real keen on the idea of getting a Siberian since I'm a hound person but I borrowed her from a friend last racing season. She turned out to be a good match for my team so I decided she needed to come home with us!
This is Cougar, she is an 10yr old female. She is an Alaskan Husky. Cougar doesn't usually run on my sprint team but I might try my hand at racing a 6-dog team this season so she might get a few races in. She will most likely run in wheel or point. I also might try to make her my canicross partner.
Cougar came to me with Jazz as a rescue from the humane society.
This is ruby, she is a 10yr old female. Ruby is an Australian Shepherd mix. Ruby is my mom's dog and was my very first "sled dog". I taught her to pull a plastic sled at the beginning of my fast growing addiction. She is now retired to a life on the couch.
Ruby is also a rescue.
This is Maggie, she is a 7yr old female. Maggie is a Labrador. She doesn't run on the team due to Hip Dysplacia. She loves to go on walks and play in the creek by our house.
A friend of ours got Maggie from another friend of ours (confusing, I know) and asked us to keep her for a few days while they got things ready. To make a long story short, they ended up not taking Maggie so she stayed with us.
This is Ellie, she is a 5yr old female. Ellie is a German Shepherd. Ellie was one of my first sled dogs and the first command leader I trained myself. I entered my very first race with her in wheel and Jacob and Salsa in lead. Ellie doesn't run on the race team, she just doesn't have the speed, but I use her for bikejoring (Cougar is her partner for that), Agility, and she may be my canicross partner if Cougar doesn't work out.
Ellie was given to me by my brother.
This is Dixie, she is a 2yr old female. Dixie, of course, doesn't run on the team so she acts as my companion dog. She often tags along in the truck on training runs and to races.
When we got Dixie we were NOT looking for any dogs. My mom and I were in a nearby town, killing some time so we decided to stop into their humane society (bad idea). We saw Dixie and couldn't leave with out her (yes, we're a couple of suckers XD). She reminded me of my Beagle that i lost a couple of summers ago so we had to have her.
And there they are! Thanks for looking.
