| Hi guys, question about the Heartguard chewy...Selena got her first dose yesterday and hasn't stopped passing awful gas ever since! I mean literally every 2-5 minutes so I called the vet and they said gas usually isn't a side effect of heartguard so I thought it was strange because she never farts like this! She's acting fine and moving her bowels fine so it makes me think it is that. Last month she had the chewable Interceptor (sp?) pill instead of heartguard and never has any gas with that. So my question...has it caused anyone's pups the stinky non stop toots? |

| Bourbon had the runs after every vaccine set up but the heart stuff never affected him even now he is on Triflexis (sp) which has a side effect of vommiting if they have a sensitive stomach but that was never an issue for us. sorry I cannot help you on the toots |

| Never had an issue with any HW chews causing gas with any of mine but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Any chance she could've gotten into something? Did she have anything else new around the same time?
To determine it if was just a coincidence or not, I'd see if it happens again next month and if it does then perhaps go back to another pill that doesn't give her gas. _________________ |

| Thanks for the replies! The vet did also recommend to wait until next month and see if it happens again but I'm almost wondering if its something else...I gave it to her yesterday morning and today she is still tooting!!! I changed her food to BBW almost a month ago and introduced her to her bully sticks that she loves a few weeks ago. Any guesses if either of those could do it? The vet said I could bring her in but I hate to bring her in for that when she's going for her last shots on Wednesday. (She doesn't have any other symptoms, she's her normal crazy self) |

| They could do it but if they haven't caused gas before, then i doubt that's the culprit now. She could have eaten something that you are not aware of.
I wouldn't bring her in over a little gas. It's not going to hurt her and there's nothing for the vet to do for her. We all get a little gas every now and again! lol _________________ |
