Welcome!Nikola a.k.a. "Niko"Born approx. 3/30/2011 Rescued 6/14/2011 using petfinder.com As of July 8, 2011: Mid-Atlantic Husky! Niko has now been to SC, NC, VA, MD, DC, DE, and PA! Niko's first wooded hike: In front of the air vent: Oblivious to the cat. Shania is almost 14 years old and wasn't a fan of Niko being in her house... Her brother, Garth, probably would have been fine, but he unfortunately passed away March 2010. :'( Found her! (can you?) Enjoying having indoor stairs! In the car: Meeting a St. Bernard at the airport park! Walking across a foggy field: Playing with a giant purple ball! Checking out the pond: Digging next to the pond: Finding a root (Niko LOVES roots): Cooling off: Chasing Girls... (Ursa is a mix of Chow, Rottwiler, lab, and dalmation) and chillin' with the guys (chocolate lab named Duke): as the sunsets ... and then stealing frizbees when the sun is down and he isn't looking! Curled up like a fox by the camp fire Thank you!! And please feel free to post any questions, comments, predictions, etc! He is the first dog for both my husband and I so we are open to advice and ideas!

I know Bosnianboy! It's so weird!! Jbealer, I'm really not sure. The vet guessed he was born 3/30/11 (teeth), which makes him almost 4mo (Saturday)... but my husband keeps insisting he's more like 5. Do you know if there is any way to tell for sure? Someone said that husky teeth are different and that might not be the best way to age them... IDK. He has lost a few already. Someone else said they are full grown at 6 months? He goes for his last shots tomorrow... Thanks a lot- I love taking photos so I'm sure there will be plenty more (if school allows)!

well at least you can guess in the month range my boys age is "unknown" and was a guess between 1-1.5 yrs old when we got him. huskies will grow till they are about 2, first in the height and length the 1st yr then they "fill out" the 2nd yr. _________________

Niko's "double fangs" are here! So that puts him at 5.5 months, changing his guestimated birthday to 2/22/2011!

Niko has been going to the dog park!! One day he was the only black & white in a sea of brown. I wanted to take a picture of it, and ended up with this gem!! Talk about perfect timing!! He had been running with them as a pack, then I see this through the LCD as the camera takes a picture! Niko's friend Chloe, a boxer his age! Nothing will even happen between them b/c they are both fixed, but it made me wonder, what would a boxer-husky look like?? He even got to meet another Husky, Lobo, who has been showing him the ropes... Niko is like a little Mini-me! At the water bowl: Ganging up on another (Boone, Lobo's best bud): Protecting the park from intruders (someone was coming in the gate; they all stopped and looked up!): Watching the sun rise... Lobo is on vacation this week, and now the Boxers have a Mini-me too! The little one is Chloe; the new one was Duce! Hope you all enjoyed this batch of photos- I love 2 share them!!
