Reiko will do this until I give him what he wants. He's quite the talker!
I'll have to get a vid of him at his doggy classes, where he SCREAMS the entire time.
How much does your Husky talk?

Mine talk occasionally in the house but mostly save it for the car. It doesn't seem to matter where or how far we are driving, it's non-stop crying and whining. I've gotten where I can tune it out most of the time but it becomes stressful sometimes in high traffic.

Mine talk only when they get super excited. So: mealtimes, when we get home, when we have visitors, when I take the collars and leashes out, or when they REALLY need to go out.

Everyone talks in this house. Trying to break Odin of barking though. It's so obnoxious! I think i've been spoiled by the howling as that doesn't bother me in the slightest!

Love the woo's and howls but the whining is much less cute, borderline annoying actually. Never had an issue with barking, don't think my boys know how.

My husky is insanely vocal, ALL THE TIME!!! But I love it...well, some of the time. He's vocal when it's feeding time, time to go out, when he's out playing, on walks, when he meets other people and/or dogs, even when he's just flat out bored at home. My sibe just doesn't shut up but I wouldn't have it any other way. A few examples...
This was the result of stopping for a 5 minute breaking during a family hiking trip in the mountains...I know, how dare we make him stop!
And a fairly mild example of his indoor talking, this video is from 3 years ago and he is much more vocal now...if you can imagine!
And this one I know I posted recently but it's yet another example of his noisiness at breakfast time...dinner is a whole different ballgame!
I need to try to get a newer video of his random indoor talking, most of the time he sounds just like Reiko in the first vid.

Reiko and Nikolai sound VERY similar. I didn't think he even *had* a voice until about a month ago. Now he "talks" to us when he wants to go for a walk, or when he wants to go outside. It's pretty cute.

I LOVE that last vid, Val!
Ginger will talk when prompted, and she'll keep going if we keep prompting her and we know when she's had enough because she'll talk softer until it's just a really quiet, low 'Roooo'. Other than prompting her to talk, she's pretty quiet.

She is a TOTAL trip sometimes!
Sometimes, when she's had enough, and we keep prompting her, we will say, 'Roo-roo??' and she'll walk away, look back and say, 'Roo.' (Imagine us asking a question and she answering as a matter of fact). TOTAL trip!
She certainly puts laughter and love in our lives, that's for sure!!

Typical of rescues. We thought Koda was the most mellow, well-behaved husky that we ever met... gave him 4 months and WOAH, what a difference. LOL. I tell people (as I learned later after my own experience) that rescues take a good 6 months to show their true colors. It's sort of like dating, where you're on your best behavior and are hiding some of the more quirky parts of your personality until you're more comfortable with each other. Dogs are the same. Hailey NEVER spoke... a year later (her 1 year anniversary with us was just last week), she almost talks more than Koda!

Yeah - we're discovering a lot of interesting things about our dog 5 months in. Hehehe...
I can hardly wait to see what else we learn about him and his quirks in the months to come. :-)

My son can get Dakota to have roo roo conversation, but other than that, my two are quiet. When I moved into this house, it was beginning of winter and my walks with Dakota were always in the dark in the morning and night. When it finally started getting light out longer, I had several neighbors stop me with him and said they never knew I had a dog.

Meeko still being a puppy, he tends to yelp and make odd noises. Whenever he wants my food or when I pretend to bite him with my hand is when he goes on his yipping spree. Also, the beagle and him make the house their play area. Meeko tends to make a lot of noise when you get the two of them together. He must think himself to be tough. I'll just let him think that.

LOL Reiko! That sounds like Nut, but she only talks when she's in her crate and wants OUT. When she's out and playing around, short of an alarm bark when she hears high wind/noise outside, she's quiet.
