| Uh no he just doesn't bark at people. "Oh well you have the best behaved dog on our walk. Everyone that walks by just loves him." We have a lot of older people who walk our neighborhood and I've heard from several that they just love Chase because he doesn't bark just whines to be petted lol but this question was a first! They also said Bella (our timid rescue) gives a very quite woof and she's well mannered too haha |

| Huskies are quiet. They don't bark (most of the time). Their howl is kind of endearing.
I've heard that too, but in my dog's case, it's true, My Bodhi DID have his vocal cords cut before I adopted him. This issue is one about which I am passionate. There is NO reason to inflict this torture on a husky. It leaves scar tissue that thickens over time. I can affect a dog's breathing and drinking. It breaks my heart to hear Bodhi try to vocalize and he can't do it.
Don't do it! Ever! |

| Is it wrong that people who use shock collars bother me too? I get so frustrated with people because barking, vocalizing and howling is so natural for all dogs, not just huskies. I strongly disagree with anti-bark collars, even if its just as simple as the spray ones. I don't feel it write to train the ability to talk out of my dog.
At least here in Michigan the majority of vets are against it. |

| I got one for you some people I know have the vocal cords modified in some breeds of dogs.. This does not impress me.. I have a relative that does this with her shelties. |

| I have never heard in my life of having a dog's vocal cords cut! That is just so appalling to me! I'd like to cut their vocal cords and see how they like it! If you don't want to hear the dog how it was intended to sound then don't get the breed!!!! ... end rant. lol My Blitz is VERY quiet too. Rarely whines or talks and I've only heard him bark once in his life and never has howled. Diesel on the other hand still being a puppy barks and whines and talks like crazy. But in public he's so super well behaved, everyone compliments me on him. |

| Were they quiet as puppies? Snow barks a lot, especially at his catbrother :-) |

Our neighbors own THREE beagles and holy crap! They don't shut up! They should know us by now, but but they go off every single time we get home!! Guess what though? I go right up to the fence and say hello to them everyday! If their owners ever cut their vocal cords we would have a major problem! |

| We got Chase when he was 3 months old and I've heard him bark one time. He "talks" every now and then but mostly he yawns with a little voice to it or sighs lol. He will be 2 in October. I have heard Bella do a few low woofs but we have only had her a few weeks, she is 2 1/2. |
