| For the 1st time since Tommy & I got married, we are taking a vacation! YAY! But, this means we have to board our 4 babies at the Vet's...BOO... We have to take them in the Saturday before we leave and won't be back until late the following Friday, which means we won't pick them up til Saturday. I have gone over & over in my mind all of the options for their care. We thought about having my sister come stay while we are gone, but I just don't feel safe leaving her in charge of the Huskyteers! She has dogs of her own, but as we all know, Huskies are different! We also thought about boarding just the Linocerous & Mika and having her watch Nook & Sisi, but that seemed totally unfair to the ones being boarded. My stomach hurts thinking about leaving them, as they have never been boarded, any of them. But the Hubby & I NEED this vacation. But SEVEN days without them? Is there anything I can do to make this easier on all of us? I plan on taking their blankies, so they'll have them. I just fear they will be traumatized being left, as all are rescues & spent time in the "slammer" before we adopted them. They won't be crated, but will all have what they call a run & they will have play time together a couple times a day. I trust my vet's office & the care they'll get, but still....my stomach hurts.... |

| will they all be next to each other and be able to see each other and let out together for play time? so does the vet have a boarding area like a doggie daycare place with a big room for them to play since they will not be walked? i know i looked at some places that had "double" rooms where both dogs could stay together and not be split up. in the end i we have tried out 2 dog/house sitters and liked both, now the more $$ lady walks them while the $ lady does not, but she is in the home with them and plays with them. our first option is always friends followed by dog sitter and i hope to never have to use a boarding place. going anywhere for any time away from the dogs sucks but your right, we all need our alone time from them as well! where are you all going?

| They can be placed next to each other or with each other, whatever we choose. There is no one around here I trust, that's the long & short of it...Sadie I would, but she's leaving that week too & she's getting up there in age...They will get to play in a general yard together a couple of times a day. Plus, Lino is still battling issues, tho we now have him on a daily anxiety med and that has helped somewhat. We are heading to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN. Renting an awesome cabin with friends....I think if it were just Nookie & Isis, we could try to take them with, but NO WAY for all four! It is costing us more for their boarding than for our portion of the cabin! But, we are going & that is that! Tho I am considering leaving to come home REAL early that Friday so we can make it home in time to pick them up Friday instead of Saturday, |

| Awww trust me I know the feeling. I just got back from 4days away from them and it was SO HARD! Mind you, they stayed with my hubby..lol. I went to my cousins wedding in CT and he had to stay because we didn't want to board them. When we just had Mya his mom and my mom would take turns coming to see her, but now with Kody it's more difficult. First my mom went with me to CT and 2nd his mom is scared of Kody because he jumps on her like A CRAZY dog. He just wants to say hi, but still...it's too much for her.
As long as they have each other and see each other a few times a day I think they should be just fine. Good luck and try to enjoy your vacation. The one time I boarded Mya I called the place like 5 times a day..LOL! |

| Yes, tho none of these 4 have been boarded, I HAVE boarded my others there before. I have been using this vet over 20 years now! Wow! That's a long time, huh?! So, they know I will be calling daily to make sure they're ok. They're all good people there. And I'll know that in case of any emergencies, they are already there. I just worry about them being scared & reacting badly....I will have a hard time relaxing, I think. But, I will give it a try! |

| We'll be in the same situation when that time comes when hubby and I will need to go somewhere together and leave G&S. If it was just Ginger, it was easier, but now with Storm, there's only a few friends that I would trust, and they have huskies of their own, so it's hard to ask if they could add 2 more to the mix.
Hubby owes me a vacation while he's home with G&S, and that will be hard too....
Try to enjoy your vacation! Easier said than done, but....hopefully, you can relax and enjoy some time away.

| When I left Braeden for 3 days to pick up Skyla from the breeder it was hard, but called 2 x a day and it really helped. He was all smiley when we picked him up at our vet and was wearing a new bandana. |
